Core
Be the first point of contact for the company via social media, e-mail and telephone.
Manage a small archive of communications material.
Respond to requests for images, copy, interviews etc. from agencies and partners
(non campaign)
Work with Emma Rice (Joint Artistic Director) to implement, monitor and evaluate agreed brand guidelines and company ‘personality’ across all internal and external communications material.
Ensure that accurate audience and communications data is kept and that Kneehigh complies with data protection and all other statutory requirements.
Collect data from venues.
Manage and update the company website.
Create and distribute the monthly ebulletin ‘Field Notes’.
Manage and update Facebook, Twitter and other social media.
Develop and update content for the Members area on the website.
Create and distribute Newscards to the Friends scheme.
Analyse and regularly report on communications reach.
Campaigns
To support Makes Three (marketing Agency) in the delivery of production campaigns, in particular:
On Tour
Co-ordinate with the Assistant Producer to support tour campaigns
Collect weekly sales reports from venues and update team.
Co-ordinate the Joint Artistic Director, Assistant Producer and Marketing Agency to produce the programme.
Asylum
Support the distribution of communications print and signage locally and on site.
Support with market research, partnerships, promotions and competitions.
Support and be part of the FOH team.
Co-ordinate the Joint Artistic Director, Assistant Producer and Marketing Agency to produce the programme.
Challenge Fund Project
Assist in the development of a project plan and timeline.
Administrate and co-ordinate content makers and web designers for new web-site.
Administrate and co-ordinate CPD programme in Cornwall and other national venues.
Collect and analyse feedback.
Prepare evaluation reports.
General
To be aware of current communications trends and ensure that Kneehigh is able to take advantage of new communications opportunities as they arise.
To work with other core staff to maximise opportunities for raising funds.
Assist with and represent Kneehigh at performances of Kneehigh shows, gala, fundraising and networking events.
Assist other members of the team as required and in agreement with the General
Manager.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Great written, verbal and visual communications skills
* An interest in digital communications and social media
* Attention to detail
* Good administrative and IT skills
* A passion for the arts
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Demonstrable knowledge or experience of working on digital or IT projects.
* Experience of working to financial targets
* Full driving license.
* Prior knowledge of Kneehigh and its work.
* A degree level qualification.
Contract
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.
Salary
£16, 000.
Hours
This is a fulltime position (40 hrs per week). Evening and weekend work will be required to attend performances, networking or fundraising events.
Location
Cornwall: Kneehigh’s offices are based in Truro, the rehearsal barns are located in Gorran
Haven. The Communications Assistant will also be required to travel within the UK for events, meetings with other Kneehigh staff and organisations.

Appropriate training will be made available to the successful candidate.
