We are looking for an experienced coordinator and partners to integrate our idea in a proposal for the topic "A systems approach for the reduction, recycling and reuse
of food waste".
Our idea is to investigate ways of using wastes from packaging classification plants and food waste in the production of lightweight ceramic materials. ITC has been
working for many years in the development of lightweight ceramics (from high porosity bricks to cellular ceramics) with controlled porosity. One way commonly used
in the development of lightweight ceramics is the addition of organic compounds to typical ceramic raw materials (clays, feldspars, quartz,…). Selectively collected
organic waste can be a source of organic matter, being coffee grounds especially adequate for the intended use. The same thing happens with the wastes from
packaging classification plants (there is a small percentage of packaging materials that cannot be separated and recycled). The project will focus on the development of
lightweight ceramic materials for different uses (from insulating building materials and lightweight ceramic tiles for façades or ceilings to ceramic containers for food
products). The key research challenges will be: selecting the suitable types of wastes from packaging classification plants and food wastes and developing highcontent-waste ceramics with controlled porosity that provide the required properties for each intended use. The selection of the most suitable wastes must be performed
taking into account not only principles of ceramic processing but also concepts of waste hierarchy (recycling only what cannot be reduced or reused) and the
environmental sustainability of the different products developed (from a LCA perspective). The development of systems for food waste sorting (for example selective
collection of coffee grounds) can be a necessary step, depending on the results of the project.

Hello,
I have a good original idea addressing this call, several potential partners who are modellers and physicists (UK, Germany, Portugal). I am looking for biologists to
join us (and probably lead, as a biological lead is more suitable in this call).
Please let me know if this is interesting for you and your institution.
Best wishes

I am looking for partners to activate a Marie Curie or an ERC on the study of raw materials to be used in the field of mud therapy, to avoid mineralogical and chemical
risks for indiscriminate use. With particular reference to the application of clay as a vehicle to transfer active pharmaceutical or cosmetic products.
I am a young researcher at the Italian National Research Council and work in the laboratory of environmental and medical geology.

We have designed an original, hydraulic stirling engine and solar cooling system in prototype phase. We want to apply for the R&D program horizon 2020 and we are
looking for cooperations in order to form a group of at least 3 european entities. Research institutes, heating cooling companies and any interested party please contact
us. The R&D program requested is about 1,5 milion euros. The scope is to arrive to a commerical product able to use solar heat in order to cool, and able in winter to
use the heat received from the Sun in order to release into the building a multiplied heat quantity.

We are looking for projects/partners with a high R & D component and also European partners to help us to expand the technology into collaborative projects.
OUR PROPOSAL
INDEPENDENT HYDROGEN GENERATOR SUITABLE FOR FUEL CELL WITHOUT USING ELECTROLYSIS OR GAS REFORMED TECHNOLOGIES
Reflectia offers an on-site and on-demand technology to produce high purity hydrogen (>99,99%).
The system does not consume energy, because it is neither an electrolyzer nor a gas reformer. It is a chemical reactor powered by (pure, recycled or scrap) aluminium
tablets.
Our technology may perfectly complement projects that search applications for fuel cells. We offer to participate in such projects as providing our technology as a plus
for the system and as a differential value for the project. Appropriate approaches are filling bottles or cartridges of hydrogen to feed the FC, as well as using the
generated hydrogen directly without storage.
Some possible contributions of interest are:
-FC backup systems with autonomous generation of H2
-Forklifts powered by FC and fueled by H2 produced directly in the facility
-Refueling cartridge tool for FC
-H2 fueling station for FC vehicles
We are also open to receive proposals from other equally suggestive applications.
This system is also interesting for any alternative supply of H2 for industrial consumption due to the low hydrogen cost obtained (0.25 € / m3).
Strong competitive advantages over other technologies such as electrolysis, gas reformed and all centralized technologies, imply not just in hydrogen production price,
but also reducing logistics costs and improving final carbon footprint.

My name is Samuel Hartikainen, and I work at the University of Eastern Finland, Department of Environmental Science.
We are looking for a coordinator of research consortium preparing a project proposal for the open call WASTE-3-2014: Recycling of raw material from products and
buildings. We are interested in actively preparing and writing the project proposal for the call, where we would like to be involved as a Work Package leader.
We have a wide area of expertise including:
-Development of waste management for increased low-risk recycling
-Analysis of hazardous substances and material emissions of waste materials in different phases of the recycling chain of wastes
-Assessment and risk evaluation of impacts on health and safety of workers, consumers and the environment along the recovery chain
-Analysis of factors for improving of the occupational safety of employees, for minimizing the environmental risks in recycling processes, and for improving the safety
and quality of consumer products manufactured from recycled wastes
-Analysis and modelling of environmental and health effects of substances using quantitative structure active relationships (QSARs) and grouping approaches (linking
with REACH-regulation)
-Life Cycle Assessment along with GIS data
-Use of Open Platforms and Open Data
-Use of novel ICT solutions for real-time measurement and modeling of environmental data
-Use of computational intelligence for modeling and analysis
We have also active connections to SME in Finland, many of which have expressed their interest in participating in a Horizon 2020 project. As for our past projects,
we have participated, for instance, in EU Baltic Sea Region Programmes investigation waste-to-energy production (REMOWE) and biological utilization of waste
(ABOWE).
We are looking forward to hearing from you,
