Petition for Overload of Credits – Fall & Spring
For Undeclared or NXCHNG Students
If you wish to take more than the maximum credit load of 18, please fill out both sides of this
form, including a short statement that explains why the overload is both desirable and possible.
The Dean will consider your grade point average, the number of credits you have successfully
completed in the past, the specific courses you wish to take, and how close you are to
graduation.
This petition will not affect the 18-credit limit for confirmed registration which begins in
November and April for the following semester. Most petitions are held until after the current
semester’s grades are final. As such, you are advised to add the courses that may be most
important to your academic plan now in case they are full by the time a decision is made.
Submit all materials to the Academic Dean’s Office, 613 Goodell during Drop-In Hours.
The Dean’s Staff will respond to your request by email, usually within a week.
