Small Tasks Are Rewarding!
St. Timothy’s Volunteer Coordination and Support Ministry (VoCoSuM) would like
to present this STAR survey to the congregation, in order to advertise the small
tasks for which St. Tim’s many ministries currently need help. It is our hope that
parishioners will step forth in faith and generously offer their time and talent for
any small tasks for which they may feel called to participate. Some tasks are onetime and others are recurring. Any help is welcomed gratefully! A ministry
representative will be in touch with you soon after your survey form is received.
Please fill in your personal information and then check the box to the right of any
task you’d like to help with. Please place completed forms in the marked basket in
Henry Hall, or in VoCoSuM’s mailbox. You may also find an e-copy of this form on St.
Tim’s web site (www.saint-timothys.org) by clicking on “Getting Involved” and then

Church-based service
Usher during a Sunday service, to include distributing bulletins and
directing parishioners to communion. Excellent partner activity with
significant other! Please indicate 8:00, 9:30, or 11:00:
Help with Parish Administrator’s “Friday Folders” (folding bulletins for
upcoming Sunday services).
Assist weekday hungry guests with food from our pantry, diapers and
toiletries, as needed.
**URGENT NEED** Greet parishioners before a service. Please indicate

Assist with Opens Arms ministry sponsored events, welcoming
newcomers.
Assist the Parish Administrator with office duties, including bulletin
preparation, during the “high” seasons (Christmas and Easter) and other
times of the year as needed.
Assist Columbarium niche purchasers with paperwork and other details.
Assist the Open Arms Ministry with re-stocking pew racks with welcome
cards, pencils, and donation envelopes.

Altar Guild **URGENT NEED**
Assist with preparing (washing, ironing) the altar linens.
Assist with arranging flowers for worship.
Assist with support tasks in between services (adults and older youth).
Writing
Write occasional, personalized thank you notes on behalf of St.
Timothy’s for gifts given to the church.
Write thank you notes for the annual general fund pledge response.
Create templates for clergy recommendation letters (school, job, etc.).
Service
Deliver a loaf of bread to a new visitor to St. Tim’s.
Assist with tasks at The Closet in Herndon.
Assist with set-up or clean-up of Service Ministry event, including
coffee hour.
Provide food, as requested, for Service Ministry event, including coffee
hour.
Assist as needed with occasional Service Ministry fundraising events
held following Sunday services throughout the year.
Assist with transporting bags of groceries from St. Tim’s to LINK food
pantry.
Be a STAR (Small Tasks Are Rewarding) “on-call” member for
VoCoSuM’s events (help set up, clean up, “man” tables, etc.).
Capital Campaign (Gifts to Glorify the Lord)
Assist with bi-annual Capital Campaign fundraiser.
Christian Education
Provide snacks for Youth Group events.
Make advertising or other posters for Youth events.
Be a Sunday School “superintendent” (hall monitor during class,
facilitate class when CE director is absent). Responsible older youth and
adults, please.
