About AYJNIHH : Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped
(AYJNIHH) was established on 9th August 1983. It is an autonomous
organization under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment,
Government of India, New Delhi
Position
: AYJNIHH is looking for a Result Oriented Human Computer
Interaction based consultant on occasional consultancy basis for 1
year starting March 2015.
Nature of
Functions
: The Human Computer Interaction (HCI) consultant is expected to
contribute towards the development of the Mobile Phone Assisted
Remote Speech Therapy in the capacity of an ASLP professional.
Expected Job
Activities
: HUMAN COMPUTER INTERACTION (HCI) CONSULTANT
1. Understanding of fundamentals of human speech generation and
accordingly helping in interfacing of the same with computers,
tablet and mobile phones.
2. Ability to analyze speech using spectrograms and the
implementation of their analysis for a digital database.
3. Good working knowledge of speech analysis software (Praat,
Goldwave etc.)
4. Working knowledge of the execution of speech assessment and
therapy techniques with respect to digital interfaces.
5. Inputs in designing the data collection interface from the
viewpoint of a speech professional.
6. Inputs in the design of a suitable mobile device interface to give an
intuitive and superlative experience for a patient who is practicing
therapy.
7. Inputs in terms of Type (implicit/explicit) and nature (visual/haptic)
of feedback to be given to the patient.
8. Inputs in terms of Visual and graphical displays with regards to a
Therapist console.
Note
: The best candidate for the position shall be an individual who is
interested in visualizing and helping in implementation of the
interaction of speech sciences with digital mediums.
Remuneration
: Consolidated amount of INR 20,833/- per month.
Place of Work

Work location will be flexible. The individual may require coming to
AYJNIHH (Mumbai) or TCS (Thane) on occasional basis when

Google hangouts will also be involved.
