Call to Order by Thomas Stout at 2:03 p.m. II. Introductions led by Thomas Stout. III. Corrections and approval of the minutes of the January 2014 meeting. Motion to accept proposed meeting minutes passed unanimously. IV. V. Reports PAPC – Thomas Stout reported that the PAPC had a solid discussion of the TCC calendar at their last meeting. The new Classroom Teaching and Learning Technology Committee (CTLTC) presented their bylaws to the committee for approval. The next PAPC meeting will be held on March 28th. The PAPC will meet with Dr. Baehre-Kolovani on April 11th. Any questions to be brought forward during this meeting should be addressed to Thomas Stout. Ken Spencer/Kristina Bezanson/Jim Perkinson HRT 115 – Plant Propagation (Faculty Requisite Proposal) HRT 150 – Theory of Landscape Design (Faculty Requisite Proposal) HRT 231 – Planting Design I (Faculty Requisite Proposal) HRT 233 – Landscape Drawing Applications (Faculty Requisite Proposal) Motion to recommend approval of requisite requests for all the HRT courses. Motion passed unanimously. VI. Discussion Item The Committee Chair asked that the Curriculum Committee By-Laws be reviewed and revised with a possible vote at the next meeting on April 17th. A. Address outdated titles and remove now defunct offices from Ex-Officio status. B. Change in the terms of service for both the Chair and the members due to knowledge base. C. Proposal of a new officer position of “Chair in Waiting” or “Vice Chair” to include a oneyear mentorship under the Chair’s purview progressing to the Chair title. D. Admittance of adjunct faculty as members due to the overwhelming response from the adjunct community regarding possible membership. If the committee accepts, a ratio would need to be determined between adjunct and full-time members. The committee expressed the desire to keep the faculty memberships exclusive to full-time unless there was a discipline that did not have a full-time faculty representative. VII. Informational Items Kellie Sorey reported that the A.A.S. in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) approved by the committee at the December 2013 meeting was approved by the State Board and is now being reviewed by SCHEV. She commended Ann Ambrose, Skip Krepcik, and John Price for the enormous effort they have put into the preparation of the A.A.S. proposal, as well as the committee for their thorough examination of all proposals that have come forth. To date, the VCCS Deans’ Course Review Committee (DCRC) has approved all new courses that have been proposed by TCC. A brief introduction was given about the new Curriculum Development Curriculum Committee Minutes – March 20, 2014 resources addition to i-INCURR which is in the testing phase. Sorey also requested that committee members direct any curriculum training ideas for next year’s committee to her. VIII.
