Entry Deadline:
Post dated July 18, 2015. Payment must accompany entry. A late entry will
be considered a Post Entry and charged accordingly.
Entry Fees:
$8.00/class; $20.00/stake. Performance & Showmanship classes will receive
prize money & ribbon for 1st - 3rd ($15,$10,$5) with ribbons to 6th. Stake
classes will receive prize money & ribbons for 1st - 4th ($40,$30,$20,$10) with
ribbons to 6th. Western Dressage classes are $20,00/class (max 2 classes);
limited number of entries. A $5.00 record keeping fee for each entry form.
Post Entries:
$10.00/class; $30.00/Stake & Western Dressage. Post entries will be accepted
up to 7:30am the morning of the show.
High Point:
High Point will be offered and must be entered. Riders must declare on entry
form whether points are to count for English or Western as there will be only
one prize for each age group. Classes to count are Showmanship, Trail and
either English Equitation/Pleasure or Western Equitation/Pleasure. If a tie,
winner will be the entry with the most 1st placings.
Stalls:
$25.00/night; or $40/w/e - 1 bag shavings/day. Stalls must be booked and paid
for with Show Secretary – can be sent in with your entry form.
Facility:
Wash racks and full washrooms (with shower) are available. Concession will be
open. Camping is permitted but no hookups available. Dogs MUST be on leash,
and are not allowed in the arena. Both arenas will be available for use Saturday
morning until 7:30am and at lunch hour; if riding Friday night, there is a $20.00
fee payable directly to Silver Sage via drop box.
Show Office:
Located in Arena. Open Friday 7-9:00pm; and Saturday from 6:30am.

Show Rules & Regulations
Rules:
We will be following the AEF Wild Rose Rulebook, available on line from the
Alberta Equestrian Federation at www.albertaequestrian.com.
Cross Entry Rules: No horse can be ridden by more than one rider in the same event, or across
Divisions, ie Mom and daughter cannot show the same horse. Exceptions are
following classes: SAEC, Leadline, Driving, On Command, Matched Pairs
& Costume.
Age Clarification: Walk Trot, Open (No cross entry with age divisions)
PeeWee (Jr. C), 11 & Under
Junior (Jr. B), 12-14 years
Intermediate (Jr. A), 15-17 years
Senior, 18 years & over
1.. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to clarify any point not covered in the Rules, and
to correct any errors or make alterations in the Prize List which may be necessary.

Show Rules & Regulations Continued...
2.. Competitors will not be allowed to compete unless all entry fees have been paid.
3.. The Trail course will be set up outside, judging from 11am until 3pm and may be ridden
either English or Western.
4.. Exhibitors canceling their entries after the official closing date but prior to the show may be
refunded all fees (except office fee) with presentation of a valid veterinarian certificate.
5.. Classes with fewer than 3 entries received by the entry deadline may be combined or cancelled .
6.. S.A.E.C. (Southern Alberta Equestrian Council) Classes will be split 18 & over; 17 & under if
entries warrant.
7.. Proper attire and approved equipment must be used at all times in the ring. An approved
ASTM/SEI helmet with harness is required for all junior English riders and Hunter Hack; and
is recommended for all riders.
8.. Riders in English Pleasure may ride in Hunt, Dressage or Saddle Seat style.
9.. Exhibitors using the wrong number in the show ring or having no number may be excused or
disqualified from the class.
10.. If a tack change is required between classes, Exhibitors are requested to advise the Gate person
in advance. The gate can be held for a short period of time (3 minutes).
11.. Stallions must be ridden and handled by a Senior competitor.
12.. An unruly horse may be excused from the ring at the discretion of the Judge.
13.. The age of the horse shall be computed from the first day of January of the year in which it
was foaled and must be stated on the entry form for Junior Horse classes.
14.. Western Dressage will be held in the arena following the regular show classes. There will be
limited entry into these classes to a maximum of 24 rides (max 2/rider). Rules & patterns are on
Western Style Dressage Assoc. of Canada website or from show secretary/office.
15.. No individual shall approach the Judge during the Show with regard to a decision made. The
Judge may be available following the show to answer specific questions from Exhibitors;
requests to be made through the Show Office. The Judge's decision is final.
16.. Protests must be made in writing to the Show Secretary by the end of Show day, accompanied
with a $50.00 deposit, which will be forfeited if the protest is not sustained.
17.. The presentation and signing of the entry form shall be deemed acceptance of these rules and
absolves Shortgrass Riding Club of responsibility and liability.
18.. Neither the Shortgrass Riding Club, Horse Show Committee or the Silver Sage Community
Corral assume responsibility for accidents or injury to horse, rider, spectator or their property
while attending the show.
19.. Western Walk Jog riders may use one hand with a western bit, or two hands with either a
snaffle or western bit as in rules for Western Dressage.
20.. Class #14 Therapeutic riding class will be offered; Uplift will look after entries.
21.. Class #25 Pleasure Driving & #44 Log Pull will be divided by size or age if entries warrant.

By signing this document you will waiver certain legal rights, including the right to sue. No participants will be
allowed to compete or ride prior to READING AND SIGNING THIS FORM.

I am aware and understand that there are inherent Dangers, Hazards and Risks (collectively called RISKS) associated with Equine
Activities. These Inherent Risks of Equine Activities means those Dangerous Conditions which are an integral part of Equine Activities,
including but
not limited to:

The propensity of any equine to behave in a way that may result in injury, harm or death to persons around them and/or damage to property in their vicinity.
The unpredictability of an equine’s reaction to such things as sound, sudden movement, unfamiliar objects, persons or other animals.
The equine’s response to certain hazards such as surface and subsurface objects.
Collisions with other equine’s animals, people and objects.
The potential of any participant to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury to the participant or others, such as failing to
maintain control over the equine or to act within his or her ability.
I understand the injuries resulting from such ‘RISKS’ are a common and ordinary occurrences associated with Equestrian Activities. I freely
accept and fully assume all the risks and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage or loss, from being a participant.
I acknowledge that it remains my sole responsibility to act in such a manner as to be responsible for my own safety and to participate within
my own limits.
In consideration of the Shortgrass Riding Club and its’ executive for permitting my participation in the event, I agree as follows:
1. TO WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS that I may have against the Club, the instructors, officers, agents or representatives and any
volunteers in any way associated with the Event. (all of whom are collectively referred to as ‘The Releases’).
2. TO RELEASE THE RELEASEES FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILTY for any loss, damage, injury or expense that I may suffer or that
my Next of kin may suffer as a result of my participation in the Event due to any causes whatsoever ,
INCLUDING ANY NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF THE RELEASEES.
3. TO HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMIFY THE RELEASEES from any and all liability for any property damage or personal
injury To any third party, resulting from my participation in the Event and;
4. THAT THIS RELEASE OF LIABITY shall be effective and binding upon my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators and
assigns in the event of my death.
I have read and understand the Release of Liability prior to signing it, and am aware that by signing this Release of Liability I am
waiving certain legal rights which I or my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators and assigns may have against the Releases’. I
have read and understand the Rules of the Event which apply to me and I agree to abide by those Rules and acknowledge that a breech of
the Rules may among other things result in my expulsion from the Event.

Acknowledgment, I read it. I state that I fully understand it. I am aware that by signing this Release and Acknowledgment, I am waiving certain legal rights which I may
have against the Club, or if I die, by signing this Release and Acknowledgment, I am waiving certain right s that my legal representative may have against the Club , and
which the infant Participant has against the Stable. In the event of my death or the death of the infant Participant, by signing this Release and Acknowledgment, I am
waiving all legal rights which my Legal Representatives or the Legal representatives of the infant Participant may have against the Club. I agree to indemnify the club for
any and all loss arising out of injury to the infant participant.
