As experts in putting together complete solar and small wind systems, GCEA is involved in every
stage upon client selection of our systems Typically, we are on-site at the retailer’s locations handling
client contact, providing functional and technical training and support, and resolving any and all
troubleshooting issues that arise when the client starts utilising our systems.
Unlike other solar firms, at Gateway Clean Energy Africa Ltd. we possess operations experience in
a distribution center at our warehouse in nairobi. Our partners have been trained by our technical
team and are well versed in all aspects of distribution management, from assisting our clients in
making the correct choice of system to establishing and maintaining business partnerships. We pride
ourselves on our proven track record for effectively administering multiple installations around kenya.
This is due to effectively directing team members in the technical know how of purchasing the right
systems to ensure that all business requirements are met within budget restraints and time schedules.
TRAINING
To ensure a better understanding,installation procedures and operations of our products,GCEA
through its distribution network conducts training for both its Agents in various towns and local
community groups. GCEA has prepared and interpreted simple operation manuals in both English
and Kiswahili on available solar and wind systems. These manuals and flyers have gone a long way
in assisting our customers especially in the rural areas select suitable systems that meet their needs.
THE RURAL SOLAR TECHNICIAN
In order to meet the growing number of youth leaving school with no formal employment at hand in
the rural areas, GCEA established the Kijiji mobile solar technician and Kiosk. It was noted during
our baseline studies that there is a need to educate and familiarise local rural communityon use and
management of our solar systems. To meet this objective GCEA provide simple training to a selection
few who can also assist in installing,repair and maintain the units. This approach then becomes part
of the decentralization and demystification process and avoids our customers travelling all the way to
town centres or cities to seek assistance on a troubleshooting matter which would have been
attended to by the local Kijiji solar technician at a small fee. It is our hope that in the very near
future we will be able to set up workshops at the trading centres and manned by the Kijiji technician
where components and equipment needed for the repair and maintenance of solar units will be
stored.

In order to ensure a good distribution network of our products, Gateway Clean Energy Africa Ltd. Has
entered into a product distribution Agreement with local distributors around Kenya. The distributors
have agreed to include GCEA systems as part of the range of products available in their shops.
