-----PRESIDENT----Alexandra Haluschak
I was born and raised in Alberta and received my Bachelor of Arts, with Distinction, from
The University of Alberta. Outside of school I am a food and travel enthusiast, while in a
school setting you will most often find me in the MBA lounge. If I am elected as President it
is my goal to increase student and alumni engagement while also continuing to enhance our
program’s reputation both nationally and internationally. There is great strength in
numbers and I believe that all of our fellow classmates and alumni provide an invaluable
network that we must continue to strengthen. A strong student and alumni network is
largely what sets an MBA program apart from the rest, and as President I hope to be able to
bolster the Haskayne MBA program’s reputation with this goal in mind. Aim Higher. Go

Kendra Scurfield
Kendra Scurfield is excited for the opportunity to represent her classmates as the Haskayne
MBA Society President. As a leader Kendra’s strength steam from her creative approach to
life, she is a resourceful thinker who is not afraid to take a stand. She holds a Bachelors or
Business Administration from Gonzaga University.

Born and raised in South Africa, I feel I already have a pretty good idea for how to win
elections: If you vote for me I promise everyone will lead richer, fuller and longer lives and

-----VP OPERATIONS----Ryan Dennis
Ryan Dennis was born and raised in Kamloops, BC, but has lived in Calgary for the most part
of the past 10 years. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of
Calgary. Ryan spends a large portion of his spare time coaching youth athletics and enjoys
exploring new foods. He hopes to help organize and prepare all of the MBA Society’s
initiatives and to serve as a liaison between students and their MBA Society.
-----VP PARTNERSHIPS---Swapna Mathew
Swapna Mathew was born and raised in Mumbai, India, but has been living in Calgary since
the past eight years. She has completed her Masters of Science Degree and has worked in
the Logistics industry. An advocate for volunteerism, Swapna has enjoyed being an active
volunteer within the Calgary community for several years. She has a passion for music and
enjoys singing and playing the piano. This year as VP, Partnerships, Swapna hopes to
continue to build and strengthen the network of connections for the MBA students.
-----VP ACADEMIC----Jessica Zhang
Jessica is currently in her second year JD/MBA program. Having completed her BComm at
Haskayne, Jessica is excited for the opportunity to be more involved in Haskayne’s academic
activities and events and to represent and voice MBA students’ opinions on academic
matters. She has experiences in various Executive positions, including VP Marketing for
Business Law Association, VP Operations for SIFE Calgary (Enactus) and Director of
Academic for IBSA and is ready to bring her skills and experiences to the role of VP
Academic. Outside of school, Jessica enjoys traveling and has backpacked to over 20
countries in Europe and Asia.
Xiaron Jia
Jason (Xiaoran) Jia is a first year MBA student specializing in GEMS. He received his MSc. in
Finance from Clark University in the U.S. and worked in Shanghai as a financial journalist for
two years. During work, Jason regularly wrote stories of the financial services industry and
enjoyed interviewing and talking with professionals. Jason is an energetic and passionate
person who is highly responsible for both study and work. Jason likes all kinds of sports
and he is currently playing for MBA team in the indoor soccer match of U of C.
-----VP INTERNAL----Chen Liu
Chen Liu is a full-time MBA student with a LL.B. in University of International Business and
Economics in Beijing, a LL.M. in The Chinese University of Hong Kong and one year's
licensed lawyer work experience in a Taiwan law firm. With previous experience of being
the VP of publicity in undergraduate university, Chen Liu is good at and excited about
organizing events for MBA cohorts, with passion and creation. Chen Liu, for the position of
VP internal- change for me, surprise for you!
Abhinav K Khanna
Three plus years of experience in the Technical Consulting domain with IBM India Pvt. Ltd.
and Tech Mahindra Ltd. Currently responsible for arranging the Haskayne Logo'd Apparel
aka SWAG for the MBA Society. Hobbies include volunteering, traveling, hiking and console
games.
-----VP EXTERNAL----Vineet Kumar
I am from India and currently enrolled in second semester of day-time MBA. Prior to MBA, I
worked in IT sector for 6 years in India and South Africa. I am currently working as Alumni
Coordinator in MBA society and also working as Teaching Assistant for Haskayne undergrads. I am passionate about travelling, making friends and adventurous sports.
Manprett Singh
He was born and raised in Chandigarh, India. He has done bachelor of Technology in
Electronics and Communication Engineering and prior to joining MBA program he worked in
telecommunication sector in technical presales role for 5 years. He is passionate about
badminton and has won many State badminton Championships in u-22 category in the past.
Anuj Arora
Considerable experience in handling relationship of external parties, and working in close
coordination with the internal team, I seek to accomplish the best for my people and
organization. With traits of relationship building and unwavering commitment towards the
goals I pursue, I see myself doing complete justice to the role of VP External, for which I am
seeking support of my friends and classmates. Outside of my professional career, I am a fun
loving person who takes life in its stride and likes to connect with people.
