Thank you for your interest in the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Ben-Gurion
University of the Negev.

research track students.
The Faculty of Natural Sciences offers studies towards M.Sc. degrees in five
departments: Chemistry, Geological and Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences,
Mathematics and Physics. All programs require the completion of a thesis.
M.Sc. candidates are given the opportunity to work under the supervision of topflight scientists in advanced laboratories containing state of the art equipment. In
addition, some research groups carry out theoretical studies.
The M.Sc. degree program requires two years of full-time study. Outstanding
students may join the combined M.Sc.-Ph.D. track during the 2nd year of their M.Sc.
studies. Students in this track join the Ph.D. program without submitting an M.Sc.
thesis. Instead, they submit a single thesis, and are awarded both diplomas.
Applications are currently being accepted for the upcoming Fall Semester (starting
October, 2013). B.Sc. graduates are invited to apply for M.Sc. studies in the relevant
department. M.Sc. candidates should contact potential advisors directly. Information

The faculty of natural sciences accepts only very strong candidates. We strongly
recommend that serious candidates submit a per-application with all of the following
documents. We will provide more subject specific information and encourage the
more serious applicants to apply formally.

Required documents: C.V, authorization of eligibility for MSc studies, an
English language test (TOEFL) and academic transcripts. The Mathematics and Physics
departments request general and subject GRE (Physics or Math) scores. In addition the
Mathematics department requires syllabuses of previous Math courses.
All applicants need to have at least two recommendation letters sent to us. These
should preferably be from academic faculties in recognized higher education
institutions that are familiar with your work so far. The letters should be with the
university's official document format.
