A RESOLUTION THANKING SENATOR RICK JONES
FOR HIS SERVICE TO CLINTON COUNTY
WHEREAS, attentive state representation has always been an important factor in the
continued success of our community; and
WHEREAS, State Senator Rick Jones has been diligent in overseeing the best interests of
Clinton County and advocating on our behalf; and
WHEREAS, Senator Jones sponsored Senate Bill 43 which is now Public Act 33 of 2013,
restoring Clinton County’s 65A District Judgeship; and
WHEREAS, this legislation will ensure that Clinton County residents have judicial
representation at both the district and circuit court levels and ensure that cases continue to be
handled with the care, attention and promptness that are essential to the fair administration of
justice; and
WHEREAS, Senator Jones’ leadership and persistence played a very significant role in
the signing of this important legislation by Governor Rick Snyder;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Commissioners wholeheartedly
thanks Senator Jones for initiating and championing this legislation on our behalf. Your
representation of our interests is greatly appreciated.
