Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions Master’s Program Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner This advanced practice option focuses on the preparation of registered nurses who can function in the role of psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. The curriculum emphasizes excellence in practice, research, critical thinking, inquiry, and leadership. Full-time and part-time study may be selected. Each student’s program of study will be planned at the time of admission. Graduates of the Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner option are employed in a variety of settings and are eligible for national certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
