Minutes from December 5, 2013

Reviewed minutes from November 20th UPC meeting for approval. Corrections as follows:




Tom noted to add Jack Fritts to Category #6
Marco noted that “Alumni Representative” needed to be removed form Category #3
Maria commented on the spelling of her last name in Category #5
Steven asked that the duplication of Wilson Chen be removed from Category #1 to reflect his
name only once.
Tom Wangler made a motion to accept the minutes, with noted changes, and Robert Stanley seconded.
All approved.
Discussion followed to identify additional representation for each Category Writing Team. The goal is to
have at least 6-7 people on each team and then develop a list of alternates if needed. The following are
the suggested Category Writing Teams and a list of alternates, if needed.










Tom reviewed the Drop Box, how it works and the contents. He has set it up so that each team has a
folder. Tom suggested that each committee put all info into their specific folder which you could later
modify and or delete as needed. All committees have the ability to view other folders, but please do not
make any modifications to other folders (VIEW ONLY).
Tom also asked all members to review the Duties and Responsibilities that he sent via email and also
passed out at the meeting. All CWT leaders are to reach out to the suggested reps, review the duties
and responsibilities of the CWT, get a commitment from them and then send the list to Tom so that he
can get an official letter from Dr. Carroll stating that they will be part of the committee.
The process will start with a spring target for the writing to be done, summer will be a time to finish and
polish and submit to Tom Wangler and Robert Stanley by September to solidify.
As a suggestion to begin the process, Tom, Alan and Robert suggested that each committee collect
evidence, compile document and pass around within your committee for input. The “Tracking Change”
icon within Word might be a useful tool for edits and comments.
Tom and Robert will schedule another meeting to complete the original agenda.
