activities the remainder of the year and be given an alternative assignment.
Assessment Days:
The science department will take major tests on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Make-up Work:
Absent from School: Students are allowed three days to make up missed assignments
for the first absence; for each additional absence the student is allowed one day to make up
missed assignments. (ELHS Handbook, page 13) Work not made up will result in a grade of
zero.
Work Not Turned In When Due: Make-up work does not apply to assignments that
receive a zero because they are not turned in. Assignments that are not turned in on time will
receive a zero and will not be allowed to be made up.
Any deviation from this policy shall be the decision of the Teacher.
Retest Policy:
If a student fails a major TEST, they are allowed to retake that test one time. The retake
test will be worth a maximum score of 70 and will replace the original grade. The student will
have a five-day window to retake the test after receiving the original grade. Retake time shall be
decided between the teacher and the student. Retakes must be taken outside of class time.
9 Weeks exams:
We will have a cumulative exam at the end of each nine weeks. This exam will cover all
standards taught up to the date of the exam.
Class Pages:
Students will have access to online resources, calendars, assignments, and other
reminders through their teacher’s class page, accessible through the school’s home page. Students
may be required to complete online assignments or post things to their teacher’s class page.
