Hello AGEC 424 Students,
This is Professor Baker, your professor for AGEC 424. You know textbooks can cost hundreds of dollars,
so I’m writing to encourage you to get on line NOW and order a textbook for AGEC 424 from the
cheapest source you can find. The book we are using is Practical Financial Management by William
Lasher. Please buy the 4th, 5th, or 6th editions to minimize cost and because I give you the assignments
for those three editions, but do not buy the 7th edition. You do not need a CD with the book or access to
the publisher website. Also, please buy a HP 10Bii or HP 10Bii+ calculator. Don’t procrastinate, do it
now. I can provide a scan of the first three chapters if you book has not arrived by the start of class.
Obviously you do not have to buy through amazon.com, but I put links above to direct you easily to a
reasonably priced source. I’ve had good luck, but not perfect, ordering used books from sellers with high
percentage positive ratings. At this point I see books under $10 (including shipping) and the calculator is
$28.99 with amazon prime. (the calculator has been less in the past so there may be a better deal
somewhere)
