THE EXALTED POSITION OF THE
CHURCH – Isaiah 2: 2
In this article, I wrote on the reason for the church being established on a mountain
top, this is not about the physical structure of the church on a mountain, but rather
the spiritual position of the church that Jesus built
Understand that if the church is built on the mountain top, then the members of the
church are meant to be in the high places of life in all ramifications
What is the church?
The church from the Greek word ‘Ecclesia’ is a group of people that are called out
from the midst of darkness, sin, bondage and immoral behavior. There is the:
Universal Church, which is the body of Christ worldwide, irrespective of the nation
or continent, and then there is the Local Church, which is the body of Christ in a
particular area
There is also the Battling church i.e. the church in this world, still on the battle field
with the devil and the Triumphant church i.e. the members of the church that have
transited into eternal glory
Why is the church established on the mountain top?
The church is established on the mountain so that it will be lifted up and exalted far
above other hills (places of worship)
Wherever the children of God are gathered to worship, it is a mountain top
experience that they are exposed to and that is why people are exposed to and that
is why people are raised to be above and not below in the church – every member of
the body of Christ is naturally above the devil
Why is it exalted?
 The church is exalted so that it can catch attention – a church must be able
to catch the attention of the people of the world in order to bring them to
Christ
The church is exalted so that people will look for it – that is why people go to
far places from their houses to worship God in a particular place that has
been exalted – the Bible says “…Nations shall flow into it…” Isaiah 2: 2c –
Exaltation provokes Attention – People will seek the church when God exalts
 The church is exalted in order to attract people – understand that it is not
everything that catches attention that attracts people, so the church is
established both to catch attention and attraction – Jesus said “when I am
lifted I will draw men unto myself…” John 12: 32, not only when He was
lifted on the cross, but when He was lifted up into heaven, seated on the right
hand of God. He now attracts men from all races and of all ages to Himself and
His kingdom, even more than on the day of His crucifixion – Exaltation
provokes Attraction
 When the church is exalted, people will be compelled to locate it – no
matter where the church is situated, as long as it is exalted by God, people will
locate it to worship – so always have the mentality of being in the most
exalted place on earth or rather being in the heavenly places any time you are
in the place of worship or wherever the children of God are gathered, it is not
in the building but on a mountain top that is established far above other hills
– Exaltation engenders Location, in other words, when you are exalted,
people will be compelled to locate you in your divine location
