Leadership Team Biographies Susan Carlton has attended Dunwoody Baptist Church since December of 1977. She professed her faith in Jesus at a youth camp when she was in 8th grade. Susan is married to Joel Carlton and together they have two boys, Caleb (10) and Andrew (6). Susan currently teaches three-year-olds at the Dunwoody Baptist Church Weekday Preschool. She is involved in AWANA and helps with Vacation Bible School each year. She and Joel are members of the Family Builders Sunday school class. In addition, Susan has helped with preschool choirs, and previously served as Director of the Sunday Morning Nursery Building. Mark Chapman and his wife Kristin have been members of Dunwoody Baptist Church since 1998 and have been residents of Dunwoody/Sandy Springs for 20 years. Mark and Kristin were married in 1989. Their daughter, Grace, is in 9th grade, and their son, Davis, is in 7th grade. Both children attend Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners. Since joining the church, Mark has been very active at DBC, starting as a volunteer in the Children’s Ministry/Nursery in 1999, and then serving as an AWANA leader a few years later. Over the years, Mark has been active in Men’s Ministry and has done volunteer work for Camp Grace, Serving Atlanta, VBS and other youth ministries. Mark coached children’s basketball in the DBC Sports Center from 2007 through 2011. From 2009 through 2011 Mark was also a member of the Finance Committee, serving as chairperson during his final year on the committee. Leadership Team Biographies, Continued Bill Hackaday was born and raised in Birmingham, AL, and was baptized as a Methodist by his Godloving parents. After high school, he joined the United States Navy, and then worked through undergraduate college as a patrol and motorcycle policeman. It was during this period that he met and married the love of his life, Aggie. While working for IBM, Bill moved about the USA until he was transferred to Atlanta/Dunwoody in 1970. He and Aggie joined St. Luke's Presbyterian Church, where they participated in the building program and the Intercessory Prayer Sunday school class. In 1975, looking for a youth program for their three growing children, Bill and Aggie joined DBC. Openly declaring Jesus Christ as his Savior, Bill was immersed on January 19, 1975. Since then, Bill has served as a greeter, Nominating Committee member, and Sunday school teacher. He and Aggie are long-time members of DBC’s Intercessory Prayer Team, and have been involved with the Thin Blue Line Police Prayer Ministry. Bill is also a member of the Men's Bible Class, an usher, a Meals-on-Wheels volunteer, a weekly driver of a courtesy cart at St. Joseph's Hospital, a Mason, and a life member of the Gideons. Bill's wonderful wife, Aggie, is an active deacon and a member of the Morningstar Ladies Bible Class. The Hackadays have three children, Dan, Mark, and Cathy, and six grandchildren. Whalen Kuller and his family have lived in Dunwoody since 2003. Whalen and his wife, Allison, have been members of Dunwoody Baptist Church since September 2005, when Whalen accepted the Lord and was baptized at DBC. He has served in many different roles at DBC since 2005. In the Student Ministry, Whalen taught high-school-boys Sunday school for several years and now serves as a Shepherd. In the Children’s Ministry, Whalen has been a volunteer at VBS and an AWANA leader. Whalen served on the DBC Finance Committee from 2010-2013, and was the committee’s chair in 2012. He has been a deacon for several years. Whalen was a member of the First Impression Team for a time and is now part of the new prayer team available after the 11:00 service. He also drives the church bus to bring women from Mary Hall Freedom House to Celebrate Recovery each week. In missions, Whalen was part of a short-term trip to Venezuela in 2007, was part of the Student Ministry’s mission trip to Toronto in June 2013, and will be going back to Toronto in June 2014. He has also participated in several Spring of Peace events at Huntington Ridge, and has participated in Serving Atlanta. Whalen attends JJ Morris’ Reasonable Faith Sunday school class. For years, Whalen attended the Friday morning Men’s Huddle. He is now a part of Men’s Fraternity on Sunday evenings. Whalen and Scott Perry led the Raising a Modern Day Knight Bible study this year and Whalen plans to lead it again next spring. Whalen and Allison have been part of the same small group for the past three years, and with their small group have participated in Experiencing God, 40 Days of Love, 40 Days in the Word, Monvee and several other Bible studies. Whalen and Allison have four children, Blake, Jackson, Lauren and Ansley.
