Ross Stores, Inc. is a nationwide retailer with over 1200 stores in 35 states.
Freight is routed to one of our Ross Distribution Centers or a Consolidator
based on the TYPE of FREIGHT and WHERE THE GOODS ARE SHIPPING FROM.

1. Fine Jewelry purchase orders must be shipped prepaid via UPS or FedEx 2nd Day to the following address

GARMENT ON HANGER (GOH)
1. GOH Freight is defined as freight that needs to be transported in a special vehicle for hanging merchandise.
a. Only freight that has been purchased in this manner can be shipped as hanging.
b. All GOH must be sorted and loaded by PO #, Style, and Size.

ROUTING PROCESS:
1. Request routing when ALL styles for the Purchase Order are ready to be shipped.
a. DO NOT request routing for freight that is not in your possession and is not available.
b. DO NOT request routing for Ross and dd’s freight on the same routing request
2. Routing can be requested 3 weeks prior to the Purchase Order’s start ship date. However, shipment pick up
will not be scheduled until the start ship unless authorized by Ross Transportation Department.
a. Cancelled PO’s or PO’s greater than 3 weeks prior to start ship date will not be routed.
3. Tracers will be provided within 24 hours of receiving the faxed routing request at Ross.
4. You will receive an email when a carrier has been assigned to pick up your shipment, provided we have your
correct email address. The Ross Bill of Lading (BOL) Number will be identified in the email. Be sure to include
Ross BOL Number on your Bill of Lading.
a. The assigned carrier will contact you to schedule a pick up for your shipment(s).
5. Normally freight is distributed to the Ross Distribution Centers based on the origin of the freight. There are
times when Ross will redirect freight to an alternate location. When the carrier calls to schedule an
appointment, they will advise you of the destination of your freight.
IF your freight is redirected, carton labels DO NOT have to be changed, however, the correct DC
address MUST be indicated on your Bill of Lading.

SHIPMENT PREPARATION:
1. Label ALL cartons with vendor warehouse name & address, PO number, Style, Color, Size and Quantity
2. Attach the packing Slip to the outside of the Lead Carton of the shipment. Attach a second copy of the
Packing Slip to Bill of Lading that is given to the carrier.
3. LTL shipments must be palletized.
4. Refer to link Vendor Shipping Guidelines at partners.rossstores.com for carton sizes, labeling, etc.
5. Ross and dd’s shipments CANNOT be shipped on the same trailer
BILL of LADING PREPARATION:
1. Combine ALL purchase orders shipped on the same day on one Bill of Lading.
a. The PO # and number of cartons for each PO must appear on the Bill of Lading
b. Please provide the driver with 2 copies of the Bill of Lading.
2. The Ross Bill of Lading # must be identified on your Bill of Lading.
3. LTL shipments (delivering to Ft. Mill, SC DC only) assigned to carrier FedEx Freight ECONOMY, you must
write on the BOL: “FedEx Freight ECONOMY”
a. When shipping FedEx – vendors please mark your BOL as COLLECT!
4. All other LTL shipments (delivering to DC’s other than Ft. Mill, SC) are assigned to carrier Conway.
FREIGHT LOADING:
1. SHIPPER is responsible to count, load and seal ALL freight.
a. This includes Multiple Stop Loads also.
b. Ross does not require its carriers to provide driver count or assist in loading.
2. SHIPPER is responsible to block the load to ensure it does not shift while in transit.
3. Ross carriers usually provide 53’ trailers, if your facility will not accommodate a 53’ trailer please advise at the
time of your routing request.
4. Due to Hours of Service Rules, Ross Stores requests that you load trailers within 2 hours.

FREIGHT PAYMENT TERMS:
1. FREIGHT COLLECT SHIPMENTS –
a. To meet the terms of Freight Collect Shipments you must follow Ross Routing Procedures.
2. PRE-PAID FREIGHT –
a. Shipment preparation, Bill of Lading, and loading requirements still apply.
b. Your carrier must drop trailers at our facility with Ross Transportation Department approval.
3. DRIVER COLLECT –
a. Under NO circumstance will Ross Stores accept Driver Collect Shipments.
b. Any shipments sent Driver Collect will be refused.
