Ann Bushby Memorial Scholarship Purpose A scholarship in memory of Ann Bushby has been established by her family for Britton-Hecla High School graduates. Yearly interest from a $10,000 endowment will be used to fund the scholarship. Britton-Hecla seniors planning to enter college in the health care field will be eligible to apply for the $500 scholarship which will be given annually through the BHHS Scholarship Committee. Ann (Geffre) Bushby died June 19, 2005 at the Oakes Good Samaritan Center. She was 76 years old. Ann and her family appreciated the excellent care she received from the staff of Good Samaritan during her nearly five-year residency. The scholarship is being established to show that appreciation and to encourage and help high school graduates who want to pursue a career in the health care field. GUIDELINES 1. The recipient must be a Britton-Hecla High School senior who will be pursuing a degree in a health-related field. 2. The recipient must intend on enrolling in a full-time course of study at an accredited institution of higher learning, including a vocational/technical school, two-year or four-year college or university. 3. The recipient must have a 2.0 cumulative grade point average. 4. A $500 scholarship will be awarded. 5. The quality and appearance of the application will be taken into consideration. 6. Application, one letter of recommendation and a transcript should be returned to the counselor’s office by Wednesday, April 1, 2015. No candidate shall be denied being a recipient of a scholarship on the basis of race, creed, sex, religion, national origin, or any other basis, which is prohibited by Section 501(C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
