Group 4 - Practical next steps, events, online discussions, actions.
A timeframe for launch
The idea was that we would take a project management process approach in setting out
the next steps. We identified the Goal as the Implementation of the Agreement of the
People, its adoption widely by the populace.
We agreed to set short as well as long term goals to achieving our desired outcome.
 short term: to produce a draft ,that will then be debated widely when it is launched
and amended as required.
 long term would be producing a document that will be adopted widely once it has
gone through the stages of development.

We need resources: human, material, office space, administrative and ICT.
collaboration with other groups including professional bodies, trade unions, community
groups, activist groups, etc. and to bring them on as stakeholders.
We need to plan in advance our actions and seek expertise, starting from marketing
specialists, ICT ,etc and use already available pool of expertise by participants.
We need to create a platform to institute and the options of using the network environment
We already have some, available like the AWTW, NING, other multi media platforms like
Facebook and twitter, blogging, website, radio, print.
This will allow collaboration and could save time, attract wider participation.
We appreciated the scale of the task and thought for the initial phase (possibly 6 months)
we could attract about 500 people but maybe more depending on the strategies we
employed to marketing.
We thought that there are groups that were not represented in the meeting and to design a
strategy that would reach a wider pool of participants especially the young and the saga
generation.
We noted that to be able to achieve our set goal we needed some type of group to
facilitate and start the process and decided on a steering group. This group would meet
shortly after the meeting to set out goals, planning etc so as to look closely how to achieve
goals.
Action points:
• Set up a steering group
• Set a meeting for the steering group as soon as possible.
• Investigate resources available including marketing skills and expertise
• Use new media to allow a platform to engage with wider populace and attract a wider
pool of participants.
• Coordinate a list of organisations and possible allies to contact in the first instance
• Plan some social/action events that would form as recruiting ground for interested
members of the public. Groups or individuals to host or fund events.
• List of possible venues include pubs ,community centres, or organisation venues etc to
attract a wider pool.
• Use multi media platforms to advertise, engage the public and as a forum for
participation in the debates.
• Launch the draft proposal in 6 months time by having an event/festival at a common-eg
Clapham Common, etc.
