The event is held in partnership with the Lorain County Office on Aging’s Southern Satellite Office, the Wellington Area Chamber, and the United Way of Greater Lorain County. This fun filled event will include a variety of activities—– something for everyone in the family to enjoy! Highlights of the Community Appreciation Day, which will take place RAIN or SHINE include: Early Bird $5 Pancake Breakfast-all you can eat pancakes, presented by the JVS National Technical Honor Society and PTA. Family Fun Walk or Run-9am Start. Free advance registration at www.lcjvs.com/communityforms Free pancakes to first 100 finishers & free t-shirts to first 100 registrants while supplies last. 10th Annual Senior Living Fair – a wide variety of organizations will provide information, services, and demonstrations focusing on healthy living for seniors. Free Lunch and Door Prizes-for senior citizens 60 years of age and older Flu Shot Clinic-Lorain County General Heath District: Most insurance accepted. Bring Insurance Cards. (Without insurance, vaccines cost $25 per regular dose or $41 per high dose (ages 65+). Free Car Wash-courtesy of JVS Collision Repair Programs. Free Ice Cream Social-sponsored by First Federal Savings of Lorain. Free Nail Painting/Hand Massages-JVS high school and adult Cosmetology Students. Kids’ Zone–JVS Early Childhood Education students will host a variety of activities and crafts for youngsters. Stomper-Meet and Greet with the Lake Erie Crusher’s Mascot from 11am-12pm. Cooking Demonstrations-JVS Culinary Academy Chef Instructors Fall Mums for Sale-Landscape/Greenhouse students Food-featuring Lorenzo’s Wood-fire Pizzeria on Wheels. Wellington Fire Department-fire truck on display. JVS Program Displays and Presentations – JVS students will share some “tricks of the trade”! Guests can tour a 9/11 Memorial located on the JVS grounds that JVS students helped design and build. The structure includes a three-foot section of beam from the World Trade Center. There will be hourly door prize and gift certificate drawings and lots of fun for people of all ages.
