The subgroup recognises that CYPAG has a long history of successful partnership activity that has drawn strength from the following factors: Strong and balanced involvement from statutory, voluntary and community sectors Involvement from frontline professionals in diverse fields across the whole age range from 0 to 24 Connections, communication and networking between services working with CYP individually and those working with communities of CYP (e.g. at district or neighbourhood level) Ability to agree and focus (each year) on specific partnership priorities and actions. Proposals That CYPAG’s interprets the priorities and outcomes in the CYP Plan and LAA CYP Block for the Gloucester context and plans local partnership actions on behalf of the CYPSP (with a possible local commissioning function to follow). That, based on this interpretation, CYPAG contributes local partnership actions on CYP issues to the Sustainable Community Strategy for Gloucester City, especially its Three-year Action Plans. That CYPAG is accountable for these local partnership actions and responsible for reporting on them to the CYPSP (via the District Network to the CYPSP Executive – see diagram) and to the GP Executive (directly – see diagram). That CYPAG continues to promote the engagement and involvement of CYP so that they can influence decisions that affect their lives, and will, where necessary, gather CYP voices, opinions and local knowledge on areas of partnership concern such as play, outdoor environment, community safety, and new developments. That CYPAG continues to follow its overarching vision: Over the next 7 years, to make it easier for children and young people in Gloucester to be healthy and safe, enjoy & achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic well being. That CYPAG continues to put the following principles into action: Deliver, through joint working, a range of improved facilities and services for children and young people in Gloucester. Promote community cohesion and integration, and offer opportunities for young people from the various and diverse communities within Gloucester to meet and work together. Support young people to play an active part in their own safety and reduce the risk of becoming involved with crime. Tackle specific problems requiring partnership action one at a time, monitor progress each meeting, and get a result. Promote volunteering within and across communities, on both youth-related and whole-community projects. Set up Task and Finish sub-groups for particular issues.
