Field Associate The National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Field Associate to plan and support programmatic work and field outreach of the nation’s premier philanthropic watchdog organization. The person in this position will be responsible for coordinating membership services, and support the field department in national partnerships, collaboratives and other special initiatives. The Field Associate will report to the Field Director. In October 2007, NCRP began implementing a five-year strategic plan, which calls for the ambitious expansion of current programming. Uniquely positioned as the only independent national organization monitoring philanthropic activities and advocating for progressive funding practices, NCRP ’s ultimate goal is to change the sector so that: More funders provide support at higher levels for lower-income communities, communities of color and other marginalized groups; More funders employ good grantmaking practices that most effectively help nonprofits achieve their missions; and, Fewer people and/or institutions abuse philanthropy for personal or political gain. NCRP is based in Washington, D.C. with an office near DuPont Circle. This position requires on-site work at NCRP’s office; candidates should be willing to relocate to the greater DC metropolitan area. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Field Associate will be responsible for: Coordinating all membership services and communication; Conducting research that informs field operations priorities; Engaging nonprofits and foundations in site-based projects and national campaigns; Providing support for an array of programmatic work and outreach; Assisting in program design for major presentations and meetings; Coordinating major NCRP events; Representing NCRP in public settings with individuals, nonprofit organizations, and foundation representatives; Assisting the Field Director as needed; and Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and a flexible team player with the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred; At least 3 years experience working in the nonprofit sector; grantmaking or grantseeking experience a plus; Demonstrated experience in program development, membership services, and event coordination; Excellent communication and writing skills; Demonstrated understanding of philanthropy; Proactive and flexible with the ability to work with minimal supervision on multiple projects; Ability to travel on occasion with the Field Director to major meetings and conferences; Strong computer skills and database management; knowledge of Salesforce preferred; Ability to research trends and data as it relates to the nonprofit sector and field of philanthropy; Commitment to NCRP's vision of philanthropy as a means of advancing social and economic justice.
