COLLEGE CONDUCT BOARD APPLICATION
STUDENT BOARD MEMBER
Students involved in the conduct process will have the option to meet with a peer advocate to discuss their
particular case. Student Board Member’s (SBM) are trained to maintain an expert understanding of the
conduct process, the rights and responsibilities of students, and the Code of Student Conduct. They will be
available to answer questions regarding the conduct process, a student’s specific conduct case, or other
questions regarding the Office of Student Conduct. SBMs will also walk students through the entire conduct
process, serving as a support system and will also be able to assist students to prepare for their conduct
hearing. SBMs will assist students as they complete sanctions and will also lead some workshops,
presentations, group discussions that serve as sanctions for students involved in the conduct process. SBMs will
also present a series of programs throughout the year about policies within the Code of Student Conduct and
on the following topical areas:
 Dealing with Conflict
 Ethical Decision Making
 Leading with Ethics
 Good Decision Making
 Much More!
Submission of this application indicates that you are interested in serving as a student board member of the
College Conduct Board (CCB). For more information, please contact Dean of Students, Laurie Neff at (919)

Minimum requirements:
 No prior history of being on conduct probation.
 2.5 Grade Point Average
 Available EVERY Wednesday and/or Thursday from 3:00pm -5:00 pm during fall and spring semesters for
College Conduct Board Hearings.
 Available to attend all staff meetings and training sessions.
 Present at least one educational program per semester in a pair or larger group.
 Assist with marketing and outreach for programs & initiatives and code of student conduct.
 Serve one office hour per week in the office to assist the Associate Dean of Students and to serve as
advocate to students involved in the conduct process.
