(NOCF) executive director, will announce the donation to Northern Oklahoma College (NOC) from the Ima Faythe Berglund estate during this press conference. This is the largest private donation the NOC Foundation has ever received and will provide financial support to deserving NOC students through scholarship awards. The late Ima Faythe Berglund, who passed away July 13, is a 1935 graduate of NOC, then called University Preparatory School (UPS) at Tonkawa. The UPS prepared high school students to enter the University of Oklahoma. Berglund, longtime Ponca City resident, was born on a farm near Crescent, OK, is a 1933 Perry High School graduate, earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma (OU) in 1971 and a master’s from OU in 1983 after her retirement from Conoco in 1981. There will be media kits available containing information about NOC, the foundation and the donor, and there will be a photo opportunity when a ceremonial check is presented to the NOC Foundation from RCB – Pioneer Bank and Trust of Ponca City, trustee of the Berglund Estate. -30-
