Committee Member Application
Position Description:
This is a student leadership position in the Student Activities Office responsible for the series of
University sponsored events that make up the core events present in conjunction with the Student
Union. Each committee member is responsible for helping facilitate one or more events. This
committee member works with Coordinators to help plan and implement their appointed events.
General Members are advised by the Tech Activities Board Director and supervised by a
Coordinator/Student Activities. They work closely with the Area Coordinators.
Requirements
 Registered full-time student at Texas Tech University.
 A cumulative GPA of 2.25
 Attend weekly Tuesday night meetings.
 Attend Retreats.
 Work one (1) office hour weekly in the TAB office
 Work closely with Supervisor, Director, and Coordinators.
 Ability to represent the University, the Tech Activities Board, and yourself well.
 Evening and weekend hours are often required, particularly leading up to the events.
 Work during a nine-month period spanning from September to May.
 Need to have good Communication (written and oral), creative and organizational
skills.

 Learn transferable skills (public speaking, office procedures, etc.).
 Tech Activities Board is great hands-on experience for many degree plans. For
example: Marketing, PR, RHIM, Graphic Design, Web Design, and many more.
Application Process: Mandatory Events
 January 21nd– Informational Session –Red Raider Lounge in the Student Union at
6:00pm.
 January 26th- Turn in the application to the Tech Activities Board office in the West
Basement of the Student Union by 12:00pm.
 January 28th- Group Interview - Matador Room on the 2nd floor of the Student
Union at 5:30 pm.
 January 29th- Individual Interview- If selected to attend an individual interview,
sign up through the link that will be sent out to your TTU e-mail the evening of group
interviews. Interview times may be chosen between 8:00am-5:00pm.
