The Pi Nu Epsilon, Inc. anti-hazing policy is as follows. It was written to comply with the
Pennsylvania Anti-hazing Law Act 175 (December 1986) taking effect January 1994.
Hazing. (from PA Act 175)
"any brutality of a physical nature, such as whipping, beating, branding, forced calisthenics,
exposure to the elements, forced consumption of any food, liquor, drug, or other substance, or
any other physical activity which could adversely affect the physical health and safety of the
individual to extreme mental stress, such as sleep deprivation, forced exclusion from social
contact which could result in extreme embarrassment, or any other forced activity which could
adversely affect the mental health or dignity of the individual, or any willful destruction or
removal of public or private material."
 All individuals in the chapter are responsible for the adherence and enforcement of the
hazing policy and law. If any individual is aware of, but does report, any activity mention
in the hazing policy, then that person(s) shall also face the disciplinary actions.
 Hazing is defined as an action on or off campus that:
 recklessly or intentionally endangers the physical health, mental health, safety or
dignity of a person
 willfully destroys or removes public or private property for the purpose of initiation or
admission into, affiliation with, or as a condition of continued membership in any
organization that operates under the sanction of or that is recognized by Pi Nu
Epsilon, Inc.
 The term hazing shall include, but is not limited to, any acts of a physical nature such as:
 whipping, paddling, beating, or branding
 forced calisthenics
 exposure to the elements
 forced consumption of food, alcohol, drugs or other substances
 engaging in public stunts and buffoonery
 morally degrading or humiliating games and activities
 late work sessions which interfere with scholastic activities
 requiring individuals to stay together in a private or public facility during hours not
allowed as associating time
 publicly apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste
 and any other forced physical activity not mentioned which could adversely affecting
the physical health, mental health, safety and dignity of a person.
 The term hazing shall include any activity which would subject an individual to extreme
mental stress, including but not limited to:
 any form of fatigue, including sleep deprivation
 verbal abuse in any manner
 forced exclusion from social contact
 forced conduct which could result in embarrassment, including but not limited to
uniformity in attire or physical appearance
 personal servitude
 and any other forced activity not mentioned which could adversely affect the mental
health, physical health, safety or dignity of a person.
 The term hazing shall include any other activities which are not consistent with fraternal
law, ritual, or policy or the regulations and policies of the chapter’s educational
institution.
 Any activity, as defined above, which is indirectly or directly a condition of admission
into, affiliation with, or continued membership in a chapter will be presumed to be
"forced" - willingness of the individual to participate in such activity notwithstanding.
 Pi Nu Epsilon, Inc. prohibits hazing. Alleged violations of the hazing policy below will
result in the fraternity initiating disciplinary and/or legal action against the organization
and or all involved persons. When it is determined that hazing has occurred, sanctions
and stipulations include those outlined within the National Bylaws. Each chapter is
responsible for informing members, associate members, affiliates, or guests of the
hazing policy. When deemed necessary, findings will be shared with law enforcement
officials.
 All chapters must file an Associate Hazing Compliance Form for each associate and a
Membership Hazing Compliance Form for each new member with the National Council
to certify recognition of and compliance with the Pi Nu Epsilon Hazing Policy. Any
chapter and/or member not filing this form will face disciplinary action. It will be the
chapter's responsibility to see that the Associate Hazing Compliance Form is submitted
to the National Council before the third week of associating. It will be the chapter's
responsibility to see that the Membership Hazing Compliance Form is submitted to the
National Council two weeks after induction.

I attest, acknowledge and agree to the following in consideration for the privilege to join Pi Nu
Epsilon, Inc. That I have been given an opportunity to read and I have read and understood the
policy and regulations of the Pi Nu Epsilon, Inc. as stated in the hazing policy.

I understand that hazing, defined as any action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether
on or off campus, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment or
ridicule, IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED by Pi Nu Epsilon, Inc. I further understand that it is not a
requirement of the _________ chapter of Pi Nu Epsilon's associating program that I participate
in any manner or form of hazing whatsoever.

I agree and promise not to participate in any activity deemed to be hazing. I have read the
examples of hazing as described in the hazing policy.

I agree to promptly notify the chapter advisor, the officers of the chapter, and the national
officials if I am, or any on else is, ever confronted by hazing in any from by a member of Pi Nu
Epsilon, Inc. or one of its guests. If I do not inform the appropriate officers I shall also face the
disciplinary actions.

explaining to me this Agreement and that I understand this Agreement.

given an opportunity to read and I have read and understood the following policy and
regulations of the Pi Nu Epsilon, Inc. as stated in the hazing policy.

I understand that hazing, defined as any action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether
on or off campus, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment or
ridicule, IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED by Pi Nu Epsilon, Inc. I further understand that it is not a

encourage or recognize any manner or form of hazing whatsoever.
