Mike Stair is a master coach and teacher of tennis. Coach Stair is a dynamic, passionate tennis coach who finds it a joy to represent an
institution with class, honor, and loyalty! Coach Stair is one of the most highly respected and successful high school coaches in North
Carolina. He has consistently had every team he coached ranked in the top 5 in North Carolina. His overall record in 10 years of
coaching is 128-35 with over five Sectional Championships and 1 State Championship in 2007. Coach stair is a student of the game
of tennis, as he researches the latest, effective coaching methods used and adapts them to fit his program. Coach Stair has a talent for
“seeing” players’ stroke mechanics, and the ability to correct them in an easy, effective way. Coach Stair runs rigorous, yet fun
practices that are functional and carry purpose. He continuously produces ranked junior players everywhere he goes. In Newton
Conover, he produced ranked players, all of whom were offered college scholarships in tennis. At Topsail High School, he produced
ranked players who some went on to play Division I.

Danielle McGee began working with Coach Stair in the beginning of her freshman year of high school. Danielle has had training
since she was 10 years old and has been in many tournaments. Coach Stair brought a new element to her game that not only gave her
confidence but focused on weak areas of her game that she needed to work on. He was able to work with her on a physical and mental
level that propelled Danielle to the top of her game. Finding a coach that your child listens and relates to is extremely important. He
earned her respect and taught her what she needed to bring the champion in her out. Through his teaching she became the 1A
NCSHAA Women’s Champion for 2008 at 14 years old. Danielle knew and voiced, that she never would have won the title without the

Mike Stair was my tennis coach during my exchange year at Topsail high school in 2006/2007.
I have been an athlete all my life but tennis was not a sport I had played many times in my life before. I found Coach Stair to be a
great motivator who told me on the very first day that if I just worked hard enough I could become an outstanding tennis player. He
taught me mental toughness and what it takes to win. He was the main reason our high school tennis team won the first state
championship in any sport in the school's history. His understanding of the game is brilliant. I learnt the right hitting techniques and
how to work my feet within just 2 months after training with him. His personal training also raised my game to a whole new level. His
ability to play the game is a major part since he can place the ball very well and bring it back to you in almost every situation. That
makes it a lot easier during hitting drills to just focus on you and not to worry about whether your partner could return the ball or not.
Due to his alternating training plan it was never boring and that encouraged my team mates and me to even work harder. To sum it
up Coach Mike Stair is a great tennis coach with a winning mentality. If you ever want to be successful in tennis or other situations in
