Matters Arising Carers - C/F - Kelly reported that there had not been much development in relation to CYPS. AGREED Kelly to feedback on progress at next Autism Partnership Board meeting - Kelly has written a report relating to Children’s Services about carers assessments focusing on outcomes for the service user. Sub-Group Training Feedback: Gary Devine circulated Carers newsletter and posters 3. Greater Manchester Update – Mari Saeki In Mari’s absence, Jane Forest gave those present an update on progress in the Greater Manchester area. The 3 main points that Trafford came away with are: Lack of consistency in service transition between children and adults Improving access to information about services that families received Information sharing between adult and children services Caroline Drysdale informed those present about the SEN Green Paper and agreed doa presentation on ‘ SEN Green Paper and Trafford’s Role as a Pathfinder’ at the meeting on the agenda on the 19th of September. AGREED Presentation to be set as an agenda item at the September meeting Caroline Drysdale also informed those present about the project plan developed by the Transition Board. AGREED Transition Board Project to be brought to the September meeting 4. Sub-Group Training Feedback Training - Pat Wilson/Jane Forrest Gemma, Steve & Jane delivered the Introduction to Autism course to 70 members of staff in Adult Social Care. We are presently working with consultants and United Response to develop further training. Pilot training day organised to take place on the 11th of July. A ½-day autism awareness course will be delivered to Connexions in July. Community Care Assessment training piloted in Oldham was a success and is now ready to be delivered in Trafford. Sandy Bering asked if Jo Willmott had been copied into emails about this training AGREED Jane Forrest to send email to Jo Willmott and Sandy Bering regarding future ASC training for Social Care Assessors. Carers - Kelly Hunter An autism workshop delivered to carers during Carers Week. Information – Jane Forrest Met with Martin Kalwak and Darren Hayward about information sharing and storage Meetings taken place with Warren Gates and Ali Bishop re-website. Ali Bishop has prepared a draft bid to be submitted to the Future Visions Bequest Funds AGREED Jane Forrest to invite Jenny Holt and Ali Bishop to meet to discuss further - Sandy Bering informed the board that a similar project was taking place within children’s services in Trafford and thought it would be beneficial to bring the workstreams closer together AGREED Jane Forrest to contact Gill Renshaw and Alison Milne 5. Trafford Extended Service Update Report – Geraldine Thompson–Curran Diagnostic Pathway: 26 people fully assessed until May 59 referrals received, with 8 awaiting assessment and 7 under assessment Review of service due to be presented and will be feedback at next meeting ADOS – 3 people trained and 2 more people to be trained in September. We are continuing to explore the development of a coping skills group, a social skills group, and a post-diagnostic group that will be inclusive to people who are not FACS Eligible. - Concerns were raised about people requiring support, who are not FACS Eligible and how this can be addressed and how it could be funded for postdiagnostic support. - Trafford Council provide support to people with autism, but an exact figure of how many people within Trafford have autism is unknown. More work required. - CYPS and Adult Social Care provide a brokerage service to help support requirements via Personal Budgets. - Geraldine circulated 2 case studies on people receiving post-diagnostic support AGREED Circulate copies with minutes of the meeting ( 6. Children Service Update - Caroline Drysdale Pathways Update: 68 cases through, with 6 completed, 7 awaiting further information or assessment and 8 outstanding. Audit review should be complete d by the end of July Various models of post-diagnostic support are being explored to determine which meets our requirements best. Pathway needs to link to existing work and strengthen governance and information sharing. Debra Smith is gathering information on the services available, developing links within the network, and identifying the needs at different ages with Transition. 7. Housing Update – Richard Morris - Housing Broker role will be filled within the next 2 months and will be funded for 2 years Autism is to be included in the Learning Disability, Mental Health and Autism Accommodation & Support Forum Terms of Reference. AGREED Circulate copies of Terms of Reference with minutes of the meeting - Concerns about private landlords not meeting LD and MH accommodation specifications, as developers are not required to build these in to their standards were discussed. Caroline Drysdale informed the board that Jane Hobson has written a report on Welfare Reform. AGREED Caroline Drysdale to determine if report can be circulated - A question about the mapping of accommodation provision within Trafford was raised. Richard Morris informed the board that we are looking at developing flexible housing. 8. Autism Champions – Jane Forrest - An update was circulated in the meeting and will be sent out with the minutes of the meeting. AGREED Circulate with minutes of meeting 9. Trafford’s Draft Autism Strategy – Jenny Holt - The Board was made aware of the draft strategy and were asked to read and feedback before the next meeting. AGREED A copy of the draft is to be circulated to Board for comment. All comments to be received before meeting in September. 10. Autism Data Collection Terminology - Jane Forrest - Autism category to be added to Liquid Logic. Number of people with autism in Trafford unknown as CYPS are still collating AGREED Jane Forrest to contact Andy Phoenix - GPs would have figures that could help develop a profile of Trafford. Any ideas welcome and should be sent to Jane Forrest. Autism data subcategories to include Autistic Spectrum Conditions and Aspergers and Autism with Learning disabilities 11. Police Update – Rachel Nutsey - GMP Partnership team is looking to get involved in disability groups within Trafford and increase awareness about autism within the Police. Mari has supported and information is being communicated to officers. Steve Hendy asked Rachel to contact him if support is required with regard to learning disabilities. Rachel will invite neighbourhood team to any events or activities recommended Rachel will circulate the information about the Autism Champions and invite officers to nominate themselves. 12. Jargon Buster - SH to provide information on the following jargon – DISCO, ADI, ADOS, ADIR and AQ AGREED People are at Board meetings are encouraged to ask what jargon means during meetings so everyone gets a better understanding of the terms used.
