One Plants (Another Waters) ©Aven Grace 2008 SOCAN Now and then, I visit Granny’s garden Might plant a little seed where she has tilled the soil We share the fruit, but not much of the burden The rain & sunshine fell, and Granny had the toil Then Granny shares the wisdom in it all: One plants, another waters But God gives the increase, it is true Grow strong, and tend your garden Bring a harvest in where God has planted you. She looks back on a lifetime of good livin’ To change your world begins with just a single seed It takes the growin’, and the grievin’ and the giving To build a family, or teach a child to read Together, Granny says, we’ll meet the need: One plants, another waters But God gives the increase, it is true Grow strong, and tend your garden Bring a harvest in where God has planted you. Now who can count the lives that God is changing Because one willing heart would love and laugh and live And as we bloom, He’s quietly arranging The pretty blossoms in our hands that we can give We’ll bring a fragrant offering to Him: One plants, another waters But God gives the increase, it is true Grow strong, tend your garden Bring a harvest in where God has planted you Bring your harvest in where God has planted you.
