Weather Camp 2012 Application Checklist
Please provide all the items listed below for the application process. Only completed packets will be
reviewed by the NCAS office. The application packet may be mailed or hand-delivered.
Application: See reverse side of this form.
Please submit a cohesive and compelling typewritten personal statement
(1 page maximum, single spaced, 12 point – Times New Roman font)
which addresses the following questions:
 Why are you interested in weather?
 What do you hope to learn from the weather camp?
 Why should you be accepted into the weather camp?
(please add anything else that we should know about you)
Two letters of Recommendation (one must be from your science
teacher). These should not only detail past information but also why you
would be a prime candidate for weather camp.
(These should be provided by non-family members and MUST be enclosed with
the application)
Official high school or middle school transcript
 Remember to fill out the application form in its entirety.
 Print clearly or type your information on the application form.
 Considerable weight will be given to the letter of recommendations and the personal
statement, so please include them with the application.
Completed Application Packages will be accepted until April 13, 2011.
