Industrial Explosion Protection Institute,
Northeastern University
1 Introduction
Industrial Explosion Protection Institute (IEPI), Northeastern University was founded
in 1981 by Prof. Deng Xufan. IEPI was the first institute which engaged in industrial
explosion protection research. The dust explosion laboratory was setup with help of
Prof. Eckhoff, the famous explosion expert and author of book “Dust Explosion in
Process Industries”.
IEPI is member of “Dust Explosion Sub Technical Committee, National Technical
Committee on Working Safety of Standardization Administration of China” and
member of “National Technical Committee 9 on Explosion Protected Electrical
Apparatus of Standardization Administration of China”.
2 Research
IEPI has accomplished many theoretical and industrial projects on explosion
