Industrial Explosion Protection Institute, Northeastern University 1 Introduction Industrial Explosion Protection Institute (IEPI), Northeastern University was founded in 1981 by Prof. Deng Xufan. IEPI was the first institute which engaged in industrial explosion protection research. The dust explosion laboratory was setup with help of Prof. Eckhoff, the famous explosion expert and author of book “Dust Explosion in Process Industries”.
