International art collectors and design buyers have sourced art and design from Made in Arts London and industry experts from a wide range of specialisms are working with us to guide, advise and actively promote UAL students and graduates, helping them find their feet in an increasingly competitive environment. “Bigger, Brighter, Bolder” is a survey of work from the curated selections made by MiAL’s invited independent panels. All art and design sold by MiAL is created exclusively by either our current students or recent graduates, and picked by a panel of industry experts and successful independent artists and designers who meet quarterly to select the next MiAL Collection. This panel changes with each new collection in order to ensure our offer is fresh and relevant and to continue to grow our knowledge and expertise. Previous panelists have included; Angus Montgomery, Editor of Design Week, Tom Jeffreys, (Art Critic and Curator), Design Duo Tatty Devine and Tyler Woolcott (Director, Rowing Gallery), Rheanna Lingham (Director, Luna & Curious) and Anna Castleton-Simmons (Arts PR and UAL) for the MiAL Spring 2014 Collection. Three of the exhibiting artists in “Bigger, Brighter, Bolder” are Catlin Art Prize shortlisted artists; Sarah Fortais (2014), Lara Morrell (2014) and Conal McAteer (2013). Catlin Art Prize Shortlists are selected from The Catlin Guide 2014, a limited edition publication, widely recognised as the essential reference for collectors of emerging artists. Now entering its eighth year, the Catlin Art Prize is an annual event organised by Justin Hammond, showcasing the most promising art school graduates one year on from their degree exhibitions. The selected artists are taken from The Catlin Guide and are considered to be producing work of an outstanding quality which demonstrates their capacity to make a significant mark in the art world during the next decade. __________________________________ 4
