Press Release Date: 25 April 2014 Bouygues Energies & Services delivering FM professional excellence with BIFM qualifications Bouygues Energies & Services has become a BIFM Recognised Centre delivering the BIFM qualifications in facilities management in-house for their employees. Bouygues Energies & Services now provides BIFM level 3 qualifications in facilities management (FM) as part of its academy which has already sponsored over 100 people through levels 3-7 FM qualifications. This additional step to become a BIFM Recognised Centre is in response to feedback from Bouygues Energies & Services learners, requesting more flexible ways to study and to be assessed in ways that fit the demanding work patterns. Through the scheme and as a centre in its own right, the company now offer an e-learning solution for the BIFM Level 3 qualifications in FM increasing the opportunities available internally to complete a regulated and professionally recognised qualification. David Carr, Managing Director of Bouygues Energies & Services, said: “Bouygues Energies & Services is very proud of its committed and passionate team. Anticipating and responding to our colleagues’ training needs is, and has always been fundamental to creating this environment. In today’s world, it is more vital than ever to have an adaptable, well trained team. Becoming a BIFM Recognised Centre is a real achievement and an essential part of this journey.” Bouygues Energies & Services has worked with BIFM for many years as one of the employers closely involved in the development of the qualifications in FM and the FM Professional Standards. A vital strategic alliance, this exemplifies BIFM’s long standing commitment to engaging with employers to develop meaningful and relevant standards for the facilities management profession. Learning and development is an intrinsic ethos in Bouygues to ensure the quality of service delivery and staff skill, competence and engagement. The professional development programme means that the organisation’s talent management and succession planning is fully in place; last year alone Bouygues Energies & Services were able to promote 1 in 20 staff members confident in their ability to step up to the next level. Linda Hausmanis, Head of Professional Standards and Education at BIFM, said: “BIFM welcomes Bouygues Energies & Services to the growing number of employers who are committed to the development of its staff, which ultimately leads to the professionalisation of the facilities management industry. This partnership perfectly aligns to the BIFM’s Mission to be ‘The professional body responsible for promoting excellence in facilities management for the benefit of practitioners, the economy and society’. Bouygues Energies & Services has always demonstrated vigour when it comes to the development of both FM qualifications and professional standards and it seems a natural progression that they are now able to deliver a programme internally for its employees based on those standards.” Further details on how employers can use the BIFM qualifications as part of the FM staff development programmes and become a BIFM Recognised Centre are available at www.bifm.org.uk/qualifications or by contacting the qualifications team on +44(0)1279 712 651 or email qualifications@bifm.org.uk. --------ENDS-------About BIFM The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) is the professional body for facilities management.
