IV.
Comprehensive Examinations
After the completion of coursework, each student must complete a major written comprehensive
examination. This is a 12-hour proctored examination taken over three consecutive days. If the student
passes the written comprehensive examination, he or she will sit for an oral examination. If he or she
passes the oral examination, he or she will move into dissertation phase.

Upon admission to candidacy each student must register for EVAL 80199 for a total of 30 hours. It is
expected that a doctoral candidate will register for two semesters of Dissertation I and, thereafter,
Dissertation II each semester, including summer, until all degree requirements have been met.
