Characteristic feature of this discipline is further development of ideological grounds of European-American education and therefore advancement in orientation and proper critical thinking, especially in the field of research and exploration. Critical thinking should be developed not only by means of discussion of particular systematic problems in relation to their origin within the history of philosophy but also in relation to their position in current social and intellectual events. This branch of studies is focused not only on Czech thinking, which is mainly represented by philosophical comeniology, but also on European and American ideological tradition. Study of philosophy concentrates on classic topics of philosophy, e.g. those with regard to philosophy of history, philosophy of education, philosophical comeniology, political philosophy and moral thinking. "Ph.D." 3 academic years full-time, part-time EUR 1320 (per one academic year) The aim of the doctoral program is a deep, research oriented specialization on the academic study of religions. Compared to the master program based on acquiring wide scope of knowledge, the doctoral program enables graduates to focus on the researched issues in greater detail. The Study of Religions at the University of Pardubice focuses on traditional topics of religious studies with respect to the history of religions, on contemporary religious scene and on the methodology and history of the discipline. The main task is a complex preparation for students' own research work in the Study of Religions and their contribution to the development of the disciplines. "Ph.D." 3 academic years full-time, part-time EUR 1320 (per one academic year) This PhD study programme enables realisation of scientific research projects of comparable European standard within the educational process. The main objective is scientific training 1 and specialised preparation of independent and creative specialists in the field of science and research who will be able to present and defend the outcomes of their research within local as well as international scientific community. Graduates demonstrate practical application of previously acquired knowledge within the scope of chosen specialisation. They are able to state objectives and choose methods of their own research work and are able to formulate their own original scientific and research projects, which may be successful in the grant competitions. Graduates are able to communicate actively in at least two languages within their field, they publish articles in specialised magazines and they are able to present the outcomes of their research by means of original lectures. Graduates may find positions as highly qualified specialists in scientific and research institutions (universities, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, museums, historical monuments' preservation institutions, archives, etc.) or in such spheres where their education and gained experience will create required qualifications (state administration, politics, diplomacy, cultural and educational institutions, etc.). 2
