INTENT TO REGISTER FOR THE
BACHELOR OF BUSINESS STUDIES
To register for the Bachelor of Business Studies degree you must have completed a minimum of two Open
Universities Australia units which will be counted towards the degree. At least one of these units must be a
Monash University provided unit.
"Qualified Students" - namely, those students who have qualified to register for the Monash University
Bachelor of Business Studies having already passed two OUA units towards the Bachelor of Business Studies, at
least one of which is a Monash unit.
"Eligible Students" - namely, those students who have not yet qualified to register for the Monash University
Bachelor of Business Studies but who:
•Will qualify by the end of Study Period 3, 2010; or
•Have already completed one unit towards the Monash University Bachelor of Business Studies and who have
enrolled in a second unit towards the Bachelor of Business Studies in Study Period 4, 2010, provided that they
have enrolled in that unit by 22 September, 2010, and successfully complete the unit by the end of Study
Period 4.
For students who are “eligible” an administration fee of $100 must be paid to the Faculty of Business and
Economics within 10 business days of publication of final results for the relevant study period.
For students who are “qualified” please complete the Bachelor of Business Studies registration form.
The closing date for submitting this form is the 1st October 2010. Applications after this time will not be
accepted.
Faculty Advanced Standing Guidelines
1. Advanced standing will only be granted in accordance with Faculty policy located at
http://www.buseco.monash.edu.au/esg/agu/policies/credit.html
2. Units studied more than ten years ago are regarded as beyond a reasonable time limit and will not
be accepted for advanced standing.
3. Advanced standing is approved only for the Bachelor of Business Studies course. If you enter a
new course, you must apply for advanced standing again.
4. An original or certified* copy of your academic statement of result and your award certificate or
testamur (if course was completed) must accompany this application.
5. Additional information such as course outline, description of subject/unit and/or texts used in the
year the subject was studied will be requested by the Faculty if required. Please do not provide
these documents unless requested.
6. Students must not consider that advanced standing is granted until they have received notification
in writing from the Faculty.
7. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
*Certification is the process of sighting, verifying and copying an original document (such as an academic
transcript). The copy is then normally stamped and signed off as an authentic copy of the original
document. A list of people who are qualified to “certify” documents can be found on the Faculty’s Credit
