Draft terms of reference for the Research & International
Committee
Background
The Research & International Committee will meet a
minimum of three times in each academic year. It will
also host, as required, discussion meetings relevant to
its terms of reference.
Each HEI UCET member institution is entitled to nominate
one representative to attend meetings of the Committee
(or, if named representatives are unavailable,
alternates). The Chair and Vice Chair of the Committee
will be elected, by postal ballot, by all members of the
Committee and will serve for terms of 3-academic years.
The institutions supplying the Chair and Vice will be
entitled to nominate one additional committee member each.
The committee will be eligible to appoint up to three coopted members, for a maximum term of three years each.
Research & International Committee reports to, and is
accountable to, the Executive Committee (of which the
Chair of the Committee is a member). Reports are made
through the submission of the minutes of committee
meetings and through oral reports made by the Committee
Chair (or, in his/her absence) the Vice Chair at meetings
of the Executive Committee. The Chair/Vice Chair will, in
addition, report back to the Committee from meetings of
the Executive Committee.
The Committee will inform and learn from international
aspects of the work of other UCET committees. It will
also liaise with members of the International Special
Interest Group (SIG), and members of the SIG will be
invited, as appropriate, to attend committee meetings.
