PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Wing House Program Director works as a
part of the team in assisting with the efficient and the flow of operations of the Wing House
through assisting with staffing and resident care decisions. As a member of the management
team, the Program Director oversees the individualized programing that supports Wing
House residents. The Wing House Program Director‘s focus is primarily on the overseeing
and assistance in referral assessment and processing, developing and overseeing resident
specific goals/plans/internal and external programming.
1. A bachelor’s degree in social work, recreational therapy or in a related field preferred
2. Two years of practical experience working with adults with physical and/or mental
disabilities or brain injuries
3. Proven ability to plan programming designed to promote functional rehabilitation of
adults with physical or mental disabilities caused by a brain injury
MANAGE RESIDENT REFERRALS/INTAKE, PROGRAM GOALS AND OBJECTIVES :
4. Coordinate activities of the Living Skills Advisors in order to meet program goals
5. Coordinate the mentorship program to ensure 1-1 time between staff and residents
and utilization of mentor funding in an appropriate manner.
6. Assist with facility tours to potential clients and requests from outside facilities
7. Assist with potential resident assessments and new resident admissions.
MEETING INDIVIDUAL RESIDENT NEEDS:
1. Design and implement behavioral programming and behavioral contracts.
2. Complete the Program Directors portion of the Wing House Assessment document
per protocol in cooperation with the Director of Nursing at minimum every six
months.
3. Development of individualized resident goal sheets, formal programs, and data
collection, and collaboration with community support programs as needed to
advance Wing House residents towards achieving their individualized program goals.
4. Participate as a part of the Wing House team in meeting the medical, socialemotional needs of residents
5. Assist with completion of “Rate Management System” worksheets prior to admission
and then again annually at minimum.
6. Work with Director of Nursing on completing quarterly assessments on all residents
7. Communicate with resident care team* to ensure that resident needs are being met.
*Care team may consist of, but not limited to, the following: guardians, case
managers, social workers, vocational, speech, recreational and occupational
therapists, Mayo Clinic brain injury specialists/TBI program, day program staff, staff
psychologist
8. Update team on any change in behavior, work schedule or individual care plans.
9. Coordinate and attend meetings to discuss resident concerns and update necessary
paperwork.
10. Insure access to clothing, hygiene products, and other basic needs
11. Arrange for and support family visitation
12. Coordinates opportunities for individual and group activities
13. Lead resident group meetings at least monthly
14. Address resident concerns
15. Communicate with staff regarding issues or concerns that were discussed
16. Provide on-going training for staff as needed
QUALITY ASSURANCE/OTHER PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Attend scheduled department head and staff meetings
 Comprehends and adheres to all employer policies and procedures.
 Recognizes personal learning and development needs. Participates in developing
yearly performance goals.
 Perform other responsibilities as requested by the Executive Director and or Board
of Directors.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
1. A bachelor’s degree in social work, recreational therapy or in a related field preferred:

possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license

meet Motor Vehicle Record requirements

