Overall
This year the tutorial contact time of 8 hours per associate lecturer was divided so that each AL
was allocated 4 hours for regional tutorials (which may have been supplemented by additional
hours from regional resources) plus either 4 hours for a day school or 4 hours for an e-tutorial.
This meant that with 16 AL contracts it was possible to schedule 8 day schools (at the beginning
of April and beginning of July in Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol and London) and 8 e-tutorials at
approximately monthly intervals between late February and early September, in addition to two
tutorials in each region. Thus the contact time was split
50% regional tutorials,
