Darton College Dean’s Scholar Award
In an effort to provide quality educational programs, services and opportunities, Darton College is
pleased to offer 20 academic scholarships to incoming freshman that have demonstrated
outstanding academic achievement. The scholarship is worth the total cost of in state tuition and
mandatory fees for the Fall and Spring semesters. Students who meet the following criteria are
encouraged to apply. The application deadline is March 15, 2012.
Scholarship Eligibility

Students must be a current graduating senior with a College Preparatory seal diploma.

Students must graduate with an academic GPA of 3.0.

Students must have a minimum combined score of 1000 on SAT critical reading & math
or an ACT composite score of 22.

Students must show evidence of community and school involvement.
Application Procedure

Complete a Darton College Admissions Application.

Complete the Scholarship application.

Submit a typed 250-word essay explaining future goals.

Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or community leader.
Scholarship Renewal Criteria
Students who are awarded the Darton College Academic Admissions Scholarship must maintain
the following criteria.

Be enrolled as a full time student, taking 12 or more hours per semester.

Must maintain a 3.5 GPA and have completed a minimum of 30 semester hours by the
end of Spring semester.

Remain in a degree-seeking track within a Transfer Program or a Career Program.
