Bay Area Regional Director and office manager at the World Zionist Organization The World Zionist Organization: North American Department for Diaspora Activities is the branch of the WZO that works primarily to introduce Jews in the Diaspora to different aspects of Israeli culture, politics and society through quality educational content and programming.WZO North America was created to encourage students throughout the United States and Canada to continue and strengthen the relevance and importance of Zionism on campuses and in their everyday lives. Our goal is to work closely with youth movements, university students, and Israelis by creating programming that ensures Zionism remains an integral aspect of Jewish thought on campus and throughout North American communities. These programs include leadership seminars, conferences, on-campus educational programming and community-wide events. This position consists of two parts: 1. WZO Bay Area Regional Director The Bay Area Regional Director will work with students on college campuses in the North California Bay Area. The essential duties and responsibilities of the Regional Director part include: - Building and maintaining relationships with Hillel professionals, Jewish Agency Shlichim, and student leadership on college campuses in the Bay Area - Facilitating and distributing Zionist educational programming on college campuses - Participating in the research and creation of new Zionist educational content for college students and New York local communities - Creating new partnerships with Jewish organizations, participation in local Zionist events - Supervising WZO campus Fellows on local college campuses - Recruiting college students to participate in WZO conferences and events - Participating in WZO retreats and Conferences 2. WZO-Mishelanu Bay Area Office Manager The Bay Area office manager will be responsible for all logistical and adminisrative tasks of the region. The essential duties and responsibilities of the Office Manager part include: - Direct communication with “Mishelanu” Director and the WZO Central Shlicha - Direct communication with the WZO-Mishelanu Social Media Coordinator - Organizing lists of all participants in all programs the region (email, campus, phone etc) - Emailing participants when needed - Logistics for all seminars and regional events (including booking hotels, meals, registration & payment, printing of material, sending feedback forms) 1 - - Logistics for Onward Israel (registration list & payment, communication with participants, communication with the providers in Israel) Managing Bay Area budget with the Mishelanu coordinator Managing the campus fellows expenses and reimbursements Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities include: - Ability to develop, articulate and implement a strong vision to engage Zionist college students Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with a wide variety of people. Good knowledge of the Jewish landscape on college campuses both in New York and nationally. Good background in Zionist history and the Zionist movement, as well as current Israeli culture and news Excellent logistics skills Experience in administrative work Experienced in team work Hebrew is a plus, but not required SUPERVISION: The Bay Area Regional Director reports directly to the central Shlicha of the World Zionist Organization, and is part of a staff of Regional Directors throughout the US and Canada This is a 75% position of 30 hours per week.
