HODs PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT QUESTIONNAIRE INTRODUCTION The South African Council for Educators (SACE), as statutory body for professional educators, has the overall responsibility for the implementation, management and quality assurance of the CPTD Management System. In light of this, SACE started rolling out the CPTD Management System to the Principals and Deputy Principals as the 1st Cohort from the beginning of 2014. In addition, during 2014 all School Heads of Departments (HODs) – who also constitute the 2nd Cohort – will go through the CPTD orientation and sign-up process and start earning professional development points from self-initiated, school-initiated and externally initiated professional development programmes / activities from January 2015. SACE believes that the Heads of Departments’ professional development activities should be informed by their needs. In order to inform the process of developing relevant Professional Development activities/programmes, by the provider community, it is important that data be collected on the developmental needs of HODs. To assist SACE with the collection of relevant developmental needs data you, as a School Head of Department, are kindly requested to complete this short questionnaire and submit it to: Ms Carin van Zyl Assistant Manager: Policy and Research South African Council for Educators (SACE) Private Bag x127 CENTURION 0046 012 679 9736 (Tel) 086 571 5260 (Fax to E-mail) carin@sace.org.za Please note that your privacy and confidentiality will be respected at all times. 1 HODs PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT QUESTIONNAIRE School Demographics: 1.
