Attend class regularly, on time and prepared (Read the chapters/assignments before each class)
Review your notes daily after each class

STEP 5: Financial Aid “Satisfactory Academic Progress”
To maintain eligibility to be considered for financial aid, students must meet the standards for “Satisfactory Academic
Progress (SAP).” Three components of your academic record determine whether you are maintaining SAP: (1) Course
completion (80% of all attempted credits), (2) A 2.0 or above cumulative GPA, and (3) A limit of 150% of courses
required for degree completion. Failure to meet any of these components will result in Financial Warning or Suspension.
Please contact a Financial Aid Counselor for clarification.
STEP 6: ACKNOWLEDGE Student Responsibility
By signing this Academic Plan of Action I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own success. I admit past errors and
am able to overcome them by A) not repeating them and B) taking specific steps towards my own success.
I will be an active participant in my academic success and will not be afraid to seek assistance from outside resources, if
necessary. I will implement course and time management strategies and make academic planning a priority. I pledge
to meet with my advisor to discuss my progress as needed. I also understand that if I do not meet the terms of my action
plan, my continued registration and graduation at ECU may be affected.
I also understand that it is my responsibility to be aware of policies, procedures, and deadlines (such as the last day to
drop a course) which can be found on the academic calendar (www.ecu.edu under the “calendar” icon) as well as the
official catalog. (http://www.ecu.edu/cs-acad/ugcat/index.cfm )
