DIRECTOR OF STUDENT ENROLLMENT, RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION
JOB DESCRIPTION
A.
Position Summary
The Director of Student Enrollment, Recruitment and Retention is responsible for the
promotion of the college in order to increase student enrollment and retention. The Director
of Student Enrollment, Recruitment and Retention coordinates recruitment activities with area
schools; promotes the college at community events and with business and industry; works
with faculty and staff to increase student retention; provides a variety of services that support
student success; and provides information materials and services to prospective students,
counselors, and the community at large.
B.
Organizational Reporting
The Director of Student Enrollment, Recruitment and Retention is directly responsible to the
Dean of Student Affairs.
C.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
As a minimum, the essential functions of the Director of Student Enrollment, Recruitment and
Retention are:
1. to develop and coordinate an effective recruiting plan for all facets of the college’s
service area;
2. to serve as an advocate for the college to government, higher education, service area
high schools, business and industry, and the community at large;
3. to arrange for the printing of college publications, including college catalog, program
informational brochures, and the class schedule;
4. to ensure appropriate information is placed on the access channel and the community
bulletin board;
5. to present awards at class nights at area high schools;
6. to ensure that the college is represented at area events, as appropriate.
7. to ensure the distribution of timely, accurate information;
8. to maintain a positive relationship with faculty, staff, the local media, area high schools,
and the community at large;
9. to increase the awareness of new and existing programs and services;
10. to conduct new student Early Registration Program;
11. to serve as the chair of the college’s student retention committee;
12. to serve as chair of the college’s enrollment management committee;
13. to provide advising services to students;
14. to serve as the College’s ADA Accommodations representative;
15. to assist with registration, late registration, and drop/add periods;
16. to supervise the Early Warning System (EWS) Program;
17. to serve as student advocate in matters relating to student affairs;

18. to develop and coordinate the College’s placement and follow-up activities;
19. to maintain involvement in appropriate professional organizations; and
20. to serve on college committees as requested.

Other Responsibilities
To assume other work related responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of Student Affairs, the
President or his/her designee.
E.
Performance Evaluation
The Director of Student Enrollment, Recruitment and Retention will be evaluated annually by
the Dean of Student Affairs.
F.
Qualifications
The Director of Student Enrollment, Recruitment and Retention must have a minimum of a
master’s degree and must demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.

Mastery of basic mathematics skills, such as percentages and fractions
Willingness to travel as appropriate
Ability to lift objects weighing twenty-five pounds
Salary Schedule
The salary schedule for this position is based on State Salary Schedule C2.
