03/12/2013 Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Economics 2014 Dual Program Structure It is important that you read and understand the following information. To be eligible to enrol in a dual degree program you must ensure that you satisfy the entry requirements for both programs. Once enrolled it is your responsibility to ensure that you complete all the requirements for each section of this dual program in order to graduate with both degrees. The following information is designed to help you plan your enrolment to meet this goal. Further information can be found in the Official rules and Course lists under the Program Rules and Requirements link for each program in the Programs and Courses website: http://www.uq.edu.au/study/ You are not required to submit this program plan for approval. However, if you have any questions or concerns about meeting degree requirements, especially when you are nearing the end of your program, please contact the relevant Faculty for advice. Please note: Students exiting early with one component of a dual degree must complete the single degree requirements of that component. Students will then be required to follow the single degree rules to complete the remaining component from that dual degree. PROGRAM GUIDELINES You must complete a total of #72 for the program comprising #20 of compulsory courses from Group 1 of the BCom List (not including ECON1010 & ECON1310); and #12 for either – o one major in Group 2 of the BCom List (#6 must be at level 3); or o elective courses from Group 3 of the BCom List (#6 must be at level 3, and only #2 may be at level 1); and #16 of compulsory courses from Group 1 of the BEcon List (not including ACCT1101 & ECON1020); and #6 from Group 2 of the BEcon List; and #8 from Group 3 of the BEcon List; and #4 of elective courses from Groups 2 or 3 of the BEcon List; and #6 of general elective courses from the BCom List or the BEcon List or from almost any other undergraduate program in the University as approved by the Executive Dean. Students may only include a maximum of #6 of Level 1 courses (excluding core courses). Courses can only count towards one program (not both). Students may not count ECON2300 towards the Finance major, as it is a compulsory course for the BEcon. Students cannot count FINM2401 towards the International Trade & Finance major, as it is a compulsory BCom course. Students wishing to complete a BEcon major will need to complete an approved combination of #14 from the BEcon List for the relevant major (of which #6 must be level 3 courses) which also meet the BEcon Group 2, 3 and elective program requirements. 03/12/2013 BACHELOR OF COMMERCE/BACHELOR OF ECONOMICS DUAL PROGRAM STRUCTURE You can use this outline to plan your program structure.
