SKARBEK/BOBER TEACHER SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility:
A senior who will be attending a four-year college or university with the goal of
becoming an Elementary or Secondary Educator is encouraged to apply.. Recipients
must have a declared major of education, if not elementary majors apply. Applications
and instructions are available in the Guidance Office. (This award will be divided
over 4 years. APPLICANTS: Please include a one-page essay with your application
that describes your substantial reasons for why you have chosen a teaching career.
Describe your goals and substantial reasons for wanted to become an educator.
Include any personal attributes and how they will contribute to your success as an
educator. Applications without an essay will be considered incomplete.
KATHERINE M. BURKE SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility:

Awarded to a senior boy or girl who has achieved excellence in scholarship and
gentlemanly/ladylike qualities for four years and who plans to continue his/her
education in an accredited school.

Eligibility:
U.S. citizens pursuing Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferably in the areas of
medicine, fine or applied arts, or music who are in financial need.

SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility:
A graduate with a minimum of a “B” average, good citizenship, attending a two or
four year college or nursing school, and who has made a strong effort to attain his/her
grade results.
THE THOMAS J. O’NEIL, IV MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility:

Candidate must be a Rockland High School graduate. Keeping with the
Dunn family tradition, top consideration will be given to a member of the football,
hockey or girls' basketball team. The ideal candidate will also be one with strong
moral values, character and displays leadership qualities.
JOHN R. SPENCE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility:
Variable (Multiple Scholarships)
A Rockland High School senior who plans to attend a four-year college or university.
Special consideration will be given to a son/daughter of a current REA member. If no
child of an REA member qualifies for the scholarship, then consideration should be
given to a student who expresses a desire to go into the field of education.
Considerations will include class rank, financial need, service to the school, and
involvement in community affairs.

ROCKLAND EDUCATION ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

R.H.S. graduate continuing their education. Preference given to a relative
(descendant) of the Class of 1957.
BETTY J. ALLEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility:

Awarded to an outstanding math, science, and/or computer science senior
planning to further his/her education in one or more of these related areas.
The candidate should be of high moral character, kind, sincere, hardworking and in
the top quarter of the class. .A short biography must be submitted with your
application.
R.H.S. CLASS OF 1957 MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

talent and ability, and attained high scholastic achievement. The scholarship shall be
awarded to any individual who plans to enroll in a four-year college.
ROCKLAND FEDERAL CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility:
1. GPA minimum of “C+”, 2. involved in extra-curricular activities, and/or
community activities, and/or worked part-time after school, 3. must be
continuing education in either banking and/or business field, 4. minimum
two-year college program at an accredited institution.
CHARTWELLS SCHOOL DINING SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility:

Deserving graduate of Rockland High School who has attended the school for
at least two years.

community service. Financial need will be considered when selecting the winning
candidates. Applicants planning to attend a post-secondary school including trade/
vocational school will be considered as well as vocational student applicants
requiring tools and equipment for their profession and/or training. See Guidance for

a commitment to serving their community as demonstrated by extra-curricular work,
