GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Gulf Coast State College Foundation, Inc. awards scholarships to students in “advance” based on a commitment
to follow all established scholarship enrollment and grade point average (GPA) guidelines. Any deviation from the
guidelines may require the student to refund all or part of the scholarship award. This may also affect all future
scholarship awards. If you would like to know the requirements (hourly enrollment or GPA) of a particular
scholarship, please call the Foundation Office at (850) 872-3862 or (850) 872-3810.
STUDENT REGISTRATION
It is the student’s responsibility to be enrolled at Gulf Coast Community College in order to receive a scholarship
check.
SCHOLARSHIP CATEGORIES
 Academic – awarded to students with an accumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
 Academic Potential – awarded to deserving students with an accumulative GPA between 2.00 to 3.49.
 Financial Need – awarded to students who qualify for federal or state financial aid assistance.



HOURLY ENROLLMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Full-time Students – Recipients must take a minimum of 12 hours per semester.
Part-time Students – Recipients must take between 5 to 11 hours per semester.
Culinary Management or Health Sciences Students – Recipients be accepted into the program and must
take 7 or more hours to be eligible for a full-time scholarship award.
SCHOLARSHIP DURATION
Scholarships are awarded for one (1) academic year only (fall and spring semesters) unless otherwise stated in the
award letter, and students must reapply for a Foundation Scholarship for any subsequent academic year. The only
exception is this: If the recipient of a “Foundation High School Honors Scholarship” has maintained the required 3.0
GPA, the student does not need to reapply for the scholarship for the subsequent academic year.
AWARD NOTIFICATION
All applicants will be notified by mail whether or not a scholarship has been awarded to them. If you have not
received a letter by July 15th, please contact the Foundation office.

scholarships. By submitting your application, you authorize the release of any academic and/or financial aid records
to the Gulf Coast State College Foundation, Inc. You also authorize access to your application and all attachments to
the Foundation’s application review and scoring committee; if you are a candidate or selected to receive one of the
named Foundation scholarships, the donor(s) will also have access to your application and all attachments. You also
certify that the information presented on this application is true and accurate. You forfeit all rights to a scholarship if
it determined that any information given on this application is false or misleading as determined by the staff of the
Gulf Coast State College Foundation, Inc.
