CAREER DEVELOPMENT GRANT APPLICATION Fall 2015 Career Development Grant Program Career Development Grants are available to all UNCSA students for projects that have a positive impact on their professional career plans. The maximum amount awarded per grant will be $500. Only one application submission per funding round is permitted. More than one application per project and per person will not be considered. Deadlines Schedule for Career Development Grants- First Round Fall 2015 October 19 (Mon) Applications available to students online November 23 (Mon) Completed applications due to grant committee members for review December 11 (Friday) Awards Announced Schedule for Career Development Grants- Second Round Spring 2016 February 29 (Mon) Applications available to students online March 21 (Mon) Completed applications due to grant committee members for review April 8 (Friday) Awards Announced Successful applicants will be notified by email. Projects must be completed by December 31, 2016 and funds must be claimed within two months of project completion. Complete documentation (i.e. original receipts) and a final written report will be required of every grant recipient to redeem grant funds. Career Development Grant Committee Questions? CAREER DEVELOPMENT GRANT APPLICATION Fall 2015 Guidelines Each school has a set of guidelines for determining the type of projects that are appropriate for funding. Proposals must have a positive impact upon the student's professional career plans. You may consult your arts advisor, major teacher or Career Development Committee representative for assistance. No funding for equipment or curriculum requirements will be considered. School of Dance: Further education through summer festivals, competitions or auditions, photographs for dance résumés. School of Design & Production: Portfolio preparation (also applies to Visual Arts), workshops, professional conferences, internships, interviews, competitions and exhibitions and other activities which result in significant career impact and professional development. School of Drama: School interviews (graduating high school students only), workshops, auditions, headshots, and website development. School of Filmmaking: Professional interviews, portfolios, workshops, and internships. Funding for the production of a film will NOT be considered. School of Music: Perform in competitions, professional auditions, and other activities which result in significant career impact and professional development. Requests should be for individuals only, not ensembles. Funding for school auditions will NOT be considered. CAREER DEVELOPMENT GRANT APPLICATION Fall 2015 Application Instructions The application must be typed. Overall presentation of the application will be considered by the committee. Do not change the application form. The application should be no longer than one page. An official application for each funding cycle must be used. Project Description - Provide a concise description of your project. Include specific information about its intended impact on your career plan. Be sure your project is in accordance with your school's project guidelines. Projected Total Budget - Be thorough with your budget description. List all expenses involved with your project in column A, and record a total for that column. List all sources and amounts of funding INCLUDING the amount requested through this grant (no greater than $500) in column B, and record a total for that column. The Column A total should be equal to Column B total. Attach a current, one page résumé. Sign and date your application. Obtain a signature from faculty/adviser on space provided. Have the completed application signed by your school's representative to the grants committee. Submit the completed application with attachments to your faculty representative by the deadline. Be sure you read and understand all of the guidelines and instructions. Check that you have all the information required and that your application is complete. Your application will not be considered if: You handwrite any portion of the application (except signature section) You create your own form to resemble the official application Your application exceeds one page in length (not including additional page for project description) You fail to include a project description You fail to include a complete budget, reflecting both expected expenses and funding You submit more than one application in a single funding round You do not attach your resume You fail to obtain all required signatures *****PLEASE DO NOT USE STAPLES - PAPER CLIPS ONLY*****
