Basic Information: this is a unique event for our Tahlequah community which encompasses all arts, including
visual and performing. Arts on the Avenue will offer artists the opportunity to showcase and market their art, and
create a client base for future sales. Artists will be in the Historic Cherokee Capitol Square under the canopy of
century old shade trees. Arts on the Avenue does not provide tables, tents, chairs or any set-up equipment. All
artwork will be outside and exposed to the elements.
There are two opportunities for additional revenue:

Purchase Awards Certificates: Sponsors will be awarded certificates in increments of $50 to purchase
artwork from artists.

People’s Choice Award: Visitors to the Arts on the Avenue festival will vote on their favorite artist and the
winner receives a $250 cash award.
For the artists’ comfort, Arts on the Avenue will provide a Hospitality Area at the Cherokee Arts Center, 212 S.
Water Street, Tahlequah, OK.
Requirements: Visual art can be traditional or contemporary, of high quality and must be hand-made.
As a participant, you must be on site for the duration of the event—Friday, June 12, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
and Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Your signature indicates that you agree to be photographed and videotaped during the event if necessary for future
promotions.
Registration deadline is May 15, 2015. Please make checks payable to Arts Council of Tahlequah
Juried: In order to assure the highest quality of art, all pieces will be juried. Please list recent art shows you have
participated in and awards you have won. You will be notified of your acceptance via email. Once accepted, you
will need to provide a biography and a picture for the Arts on the Avenue website. We will provide a link to
your website if you have one. If you do not hear from the committee, please feel free to call 918.453.5728.
Publicity: Arts on the Avenue will be publicized through television, radio, and print media throughout Northeast
Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas. Artists will receive postcards to send to their buyers and collectors.
If you would like to send contact information for your local newspaper, we will send a press release announcing
your involvement in the Arts on the Avenue Art Festival.

Art submission format: Completed registration and images for submission in .jpg / .tif formats (300 dpi or above,
image should be no larger than 5 MB) by email or 4 x 6 photographs by mail need to be postmarked by May 15,
